The Church Knights are a group of well-organized paladins, and devote sevants of Sandor, the God of Justice. They are the oldest knighthood in the realm, starting in the year 721or in the country of Stuart . After the fall of Stuart(051nr) in the Human-Elven War the Church Knights reformed into two chapters, the Arcian chapter(167nr) and the already established Elenium chapter(052nr). The Elenium chapter was disbanded by King Thaos Longfellow(pc) in the year 850nr, in order for the King to create his own knighthood, the Crown Knights. The Arcian chapter was disbanded shortly after by King Bromine Grifface, after he became a lich and created the Blood Knights. Lord Denthor Rasthavin(pc), Arcian Church Knight, led the remaining Church knights from both chapters into the monster kingdom of Stutgart and was able to reclaim the lost country of Stuart in the year 860nr. After King Triax Grifface(pc) led the Dragoon Troopers, Defender Knights, and Church Knights of Stuart and conquered Arcian, he also reinstated the Arcian chapter of Church Knights in the year 1262nr. Stuart fell to the Dark Knights just two years later.
Church Knights wander throughout Arcian maintaining law and order in the country, and can only be over-ruled by an Arcian King's Knight. They all must swear to the Code of Ennoblement:
"I do hereby pledge to honor the strictures of this sacred heritage and promise by my faith to be loyal to Sandor, maintaining my devotion against all persons without deception or forethought. Further I vow to promote and uphold the principles of Fealty, Courtesy, Honor, Valor, and Chastity, and to solemnly and faithfully follow the edicts of King Triax Grifface." |
