In 1971, I bought my 1st Great Dane, a harlequin male, after
falling in love with a picture. The love affair continued, and
in 1980
I bred my 1st litter, which produced my 1st champion, from
lines that had never before been combined. I have been successfully
breeding and showing harlequins ever since.
I have also shown harlequin-bred blacks, and, more recently,
mantles.
In 1983, because of Great Danes, I met the most important person
in my life, my husband, Joe. I sold him his 1st Great Dane.
He told me that his dream was to have a house filled with Danes.
Now he is very careful what he wishes for!
Dogs out of my breeding are very versatile, they have earned
titles in conformation, obedience, and CGC. They have appeared
on TV, marched in parades, visited schools, and acted as official
ambassadors for the breed at AKC public education events. They
have found children lost in the woods, and pulled toddlers from
canals, saving them from drowning.
The breed is my heart, and I consider it a privilege to be
owned by them.
I have been a member of the Great Dane Club of America for
over 25yrs, and am a member of the Westbury Kennel Association,
Riverhead Kennel Club, Suffolk Obedience Training Club, and
the Long Island Judges Study Group.
Following are pictures of some of my dogs, I hope you enjoy
them.
