Oats (Avena sativa)
-use:  seeds and straw
-supportive and nurturing tonic for the nervous system; used to alleviate digestive problems associated
  with stress and tension; applied externally to relieve skin diseases especially those with a nervous
  basis; treatment for depression and exhaustion; may relive some symptoms of depression; can be
  useful in some incidents of drug withdrawal; diluted infusion for children with colic and stomach
  problems; commercial preparations such as Aveno to warm baths for skin conditions
-capsules 1 to 10 three times daily; extract 1 tsp. three times daily; infusion 1 to 3 cups daily;
  tincture 1 tsp. three times a day

Papaya (Carica papya) [papaw and melon tree]
-use:  fruit, latex (milky fluid from mature but not yet ripe) leaves and seeds
-excellent digestive aid; aid for upset stomachs; may prevent ulcers; may help rid intestinal parasites
-fresh fruit and juice; capsules 1 three times daily; infusion 1 cup during or after a meal

Parsley (Petroselinum sativum)
-use:  root, leaves and seeds
-effecite diruetic; freshens breath; may relive gas or colic; may stimulate menstruation; relieves
  bloating associated with PMS; has antihistamine qualities useful in relieving allergy symptoms
-fresh sprigs; infusion 1 to 3 cups daily; tincture 1/2 to 1 tsp. three times daily

Peppermint (Mentha piperita)
-use:  leaves
-treatment for fevers, cold and flu; can relieve gas and a variety of digestive distrubances such as
  stomachaches, colic, naseau, vomiting, heartburn and diarrhea; relieves stress, anxiety and tension;
  good for insomnia
-infusion 1 cup three times daily; tincture 1 tsp. three times daily ointment locally

Pysllium (Plantago psyllium) [fleeseed, plantago]
-use:  seeds
-safe and gentle natural laxative; may reduce blood cholesterol levels
-seeds 1 tsp. crushed three times a day with meals; capsules 6-8 three times daily; infusions 2-4 tsps.
  after each meal
