Part 46

"Ohayou Toshiya kun…I'm surprised you're so early" Emiko grinned widely at the tall guy who had just walked into the room. Toshiya winked and placed his bag on the table, "Okay, I'm gonna start doing the remix and I need to talk to all the sound system guys. I'm gonna have some special effect going on and I need to make few appointments with …" he stopped and pondered a little.

Emiko nodded and started talking on the phone, mentioning few names and remixes. When she hung up Toshiya was already sitting beside her

"Tell me something, is it possible for you to contact few people from one of the good studios around here? Like one of those extras we had for Gauze?" Toshiya asked with pleading eyes. The woman raised an eyebrow, "Extras? Sure, but what will it about?"

"I need few girls, …young, energetic… " Toshiya tried to think of more words to describe what he wanted, "Not shy quiet ones…I want them as fans"

Emiko nodded, "I'll get that done. Inform you later" she stood up and walked out the room

"Pick the best ones…I want demos!" Toshiya called out

She waved and disappeared and at the same time few guys walked in, "Hai. You need to talk to us?"

Toshiya nodded, "Take a look at this….I was messing with the computer last night….and I come up with this demo…" he took out a CD, "It's just a sample but I think we should be able to get the idea of what I want this song to be like" the pretty boy then explained briefly and the others listened intently. Then one of them suggested that they should proceed to the audio room to do some sound testing

Toshiya shrugged and stood up, "Yeah" he replied

"This morning is SO FULL of surprises!!!" Emiko gawked with wide eyes. Kyo rolled his and greeted her. The woman smiled, "First, the ones that are always late are so early and the one s who are always here aren't here! Good morning Kyo kun, you look surprisingly fresh in this early hour! Doesn't your recording start at six pm?" she asked

Kyo merely shrugged, "Since Kaoru and Die will be late and Shinya's not here…I've decided to do some early singing today"

Emiko nodded, "Yeah ….that's a good decision. You need to wrap up that song this weekend right?" she flipped up some address book and pouted, "I lost the number of that studio…"

"What studio?"

"Toshiya kun needs some extras for his song. He seems very keen to do it" she smiled, "You should look at how serious he is, talking to the sound system department…reminds me of Kaoru kun" she sighed, "Hah! Found it!" she jotted down the numbers on a paper and turned to Kyo, "Sumimasen Kyo kun, I've got a call to make"

Kyo smiled

And thought

Toshiya reminded her of Kaoru?

"Oh …kay, what do we forget?" Die looked at Kaoru and asked. The purple head though for a while and then gasped

"Ginger!"

"But he hates ginger!"

"It's good for health!" Kaoru turned away and opened the nearest cupboard, "Shinya does not cook so I don't think he has any" he squinted his eyes and pouted

"Maybe it's in the fridge" Die offered

Kaoru gave him a look, "Ginger? In the fridge?"

Die shrugged

"No one puts ginger in the fridge"

"How do you know?" Die glared and opened the fridge and started looking

Kaoru rolled his eyes

"Hah!" Die grinned and took something out

"How can anyone…?" Kaoru shook his head, "Okay you deal with it"

Die looked at the big ginger piece and opened the lid of the pot and Kaoru almost passed out as he saw Die threw the whole piece into the pot

"DAIIIIISUKEEE!!!!!" Kaoru shrieked

"WHAT?!!!"

"DON'T YOU DARE TO KILL EACH OTHER IN MY KITCHEN!!!!!"

Kaoru and Die fell silent

Wasn't Shinya supposed to be sleeping?

"Shinya will DIE if he eats that porridge!!" Kaoru rushed to the stove and took the whole piece out, "You're supposed to shred it to tiny pieces!" he placed it on the pan and started to cut small slices of ginger, "Must not be more than 2 cm long!"

Die : ~_~`

"And you're supposed to wash it first!"

Shinya opened his eyes and saw Die holding a tray and Kaoru holding a glass of water. The red head placed the tray on the bedside table and Kaoru sat on the bed, "The porridge made by the greatest guitarists on earth!!!" he exclaimed and Die climbed up the bed, grinning, "If it tastes nice, I cook it. If it doesn't Kaoru cooks it" said he and gained himself a look of malice from Kaoru

The drummer giggled and tasted it

"Mnn…." He murmured

"It's…."

Kaoru and Die widened their eyes and waited

"It's chicken!" Shinya exclaimed

Kaoru n Die : -_-; ~DOH~

Shinya started to eat and Kaoru suddenly walked out the room, "I'll get breakfast for us, Die" he turned to the red head

There was a look

Die joined his eyebrows while Kaoru just smiled knowingly

Kaoru couldn't possibly…know….about…

The red head looked at Shinya who was unaware about what had just happened. They sat there like that, Die watching the drummer eating quietly until Kaoru walked in with some food and handed a bowl to Die, "Extra" he stated and sat on the bed. Shinya looked up and smiled, "We are all eating porridge" he commented. The purple head looked at Die and his eyes seemed to ask ' how'

The red head joined his eyebrows

"I'm going home after this" Kaoru spoke and smiled, "So Die can do the washings"

…

Die looked away

Kaoru knew something didn't he?

"Good bye Kaoru kun, baka Die kun will call you once I get better" Shinya smiled, "Arigatou"

Die sneered, "Baka Die, then what is he, sexy Kaoru?"

The older guitarist laughed and planted a kiss on Shinya's forehead, "Anything happens, call me ne? I've gotta rush to the studio. There are a lot of things to do for me. But today you just relax okay? I don't want you to get worse" he winked and looked at Die, "You'd better take a good care of him, and wash the dishes" he gave Die a malicious grin and walked out the room. The red head sighed, "Why am I badly treated?" he pouted

Shinya hissed

"Shinya…"

…

His heart raced, he knew it was the time to talk…

…about the kiss

"About what happened yesterday, I think we need to talk…" Die bit his lip and walked toward the drummer. Shinya turned away and pretended not to know anything, or pretended not to care. He shrugged and hugged a pillow. Die sat on the bed and stared at the younger boy

"When I …saw you swimming…" Die started but stopped, right there

Shinya widened his eyes

"You saw me…swimming?"

Die nodded and continued, "I …" he hesitated a while

Shinya waited

"I had this vision…all the sudden…" Die bit his lip and did not lift his head up to face Shinya's stare. "It was a hit, I saw you, I had a vision, a new image appeared and I just had this…this…" he stopped, trying to find the right word, his hands gestured and Shinya widened his eyes, now sitting up on the bed facing the older man.

"….sudden burst of emotion"

Die looked up and met Shinya's surprised eyes. He softened his look and tilted his head to a side, his cheeks slightly tinged. Then he took a deep breath and smiled, "Shinya, when I pulled back that time, the first thing I saw …was that fear in your eyes"

As expected, Shinya's eyes snapped wider and he turned away quickly, his cheeks burnt

"I think Kaoru knew already…you are the one with the stamina. You do swim, and you do sports sometimes when you are free. You can assume we all don't care but we all know that. Anything about you, we care" Die looked at Shinya, "We even cooked you porridge, …no big deal, Shinchan"

Shinya pouted

"I want to ask why…why the fear…why the fear leading to a fever…were you really that scared? But no, I won't ask. Cuz the minute I started thinking about it, I realized I am scared too" Die whispered and as expected, Shinya looked surprised. He clutched the blanket tightly and met Die's gaze

"You….?"

"Yeah,…it makes me realize that nothing will be the same ever again"

Shinya smiled bitterly

"You do know what I mean don't you Shinya? I can never see you as the old Shinya, can't see you as that Shinya anymore. I was scared to look into what people around are into. Kyo tried to push me once and he succeeded but …it only let me into a lot of troubles…" he thought of Toshiya and Kaoru. "Everytime I kissed you, I was too chicken out to do it the way I did yesterday because I didn't want to…see you in that sense"

…

"Why?"

Die shrugged, "I liked how we were…it was so naïve…so innocent…" he smiled longingly, "Yesterday…changed the whole thing…" he opened his mouth wanting to say more but something he saw in Shinya made him not to, made him stop. Instead, he stared back at the younger guy and shook his head

"What I am trying to say here….Shinya, don't fear"

"I feel it too, you're not alone…I was and still am as scared as you…"

Shinya slowly nodded "Thank you for making me feel better" he muttered and gave Die a smile.

The smile was different

It hadn't change, it was still that rare smile of Shinya's but it was his interpretation that had changed. The way he looked at the smile, the way he studied it, the way he thought what the smile was trying to tell him and the way he made a conclusion …

The smile

Shinya did not change

He did

What he had normally thought as the sweet innocent act had become a sexual gesture
