Creating the Basic Template for the Tag

Step 1

Open up the very basic Autumn Template. Open by the Layer Palette and go to Raster Layer 2.

Step 2

Go to Effects/Plugins/DSB Flux Gears and use these settings:

Gears 8, Strength 4

This is the template you will be using.  If you want to save this template, left click the shift and d key and save the duplicate template for later use.

Making the Tag with the Template

Step 1

Open up the Autumn 1 jpg.  Go to Edit/Copy.

Left click the magic wand using the settings from above and left click the magic wand inside the template. Go to Edit/Paste As New Layer.

Step 2

Go to Selections/Invert and click the delete key. Go to Selections/Select None.

Step 3

Left click the dropper and left click on one of the vibrant autumn colors so that it appears in the top color box at the Material Palette.  This color will outline your template.

Left click the top color box and when the Color Selection Window Opens up, write down the hue and saturation of this color.

Step 4

Left click the magic wand and left click it on the border of the template.  Go to Adjust/Hue and Saturation/Colorize and type in the Hue and Saturation amounts from Step 3 and click ok.  Go to Selections/Select None.

Step 5

We will need a little more width to work with.  Go to Image/Canvas Size and at the top,  for width type in 620 and height 600.

Where it says placement: Top and bottom should be 0, Left 0 and Right 50.  We want to extend the right side just a bit to leave room to add the rake and leaves.

Step 6

Open up the leaves 3 and select the large brown leaf.  Copy and paste the leaf to the top left side of the tag. Go to Layers/Duplicate and Image/Mirror and place the leaf on the right side of the tag, as shown on my tag above.

Step 7

Copy and paste the other 2 leaves on both sides of the tag, mirroring the leaves.  See my tag above.

Step 8

Open up the tree and copy and paste it to the left side of the tag.  See my tag above.

Step 9

Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and use the #1 drop shadow from above.

Step 10

Open up the leaves and rake.  Copy and paste them to the right side of the tag over the leaves as you see on mine.

Step 11

Repeat Step 9 but use the #2 drop shadow from above.

Step 12

Add your tube graphic.  Resize as necessary, and add the #2 drop shadow.

Step 13

Add your copyright information and save the file as a psp file (without the text). Do not merge your layers.   This way,  you have a template you can use and modify.  Also saving it this way allows you to make variations to the tag because all your layers are intact.

Step 14

Add your text to your file, go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten) and save this file as a jpg.

We hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
