SETTINGS USED IN THIS TUTORIAL

Magic Wand:

Mode: Add/Shift, Match Mode: RGB Value, Tolerance 0, Contiguous checked, Feather: 0, Anti-Alias checked and outside selected.

Drop Shadow:

Vertical Offset 2, Horizontal Offset 2, Opacity 80, Blur 5, Color Black

Step 1

Open up a new transparent image, 600 width by 600 height and flood fill with white. Also have your tube graphic open.

Step 2

Go to Layers/New Raster Layer.

At the Material Palette, in the top color box, select a deep color that coordinates with your graphic.  In the bottom color box, select a second deep color from a different color family that will also work well with your graphic.

Step 3

Left click the top color box and when the color selection window opens, click the gradient tab and select linear style, foreground/background with angle set to 0 and repeats set to 7.

Flood fill the transparency with this linear, foreground-background gradient.

Step 4

Open up the object mask.  Make your tag image active and go to Layers/New Mask Layer from image.

At the drop down menu locate the object mask with source luminance and invert mask data checked.

Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Group

Step 5

Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and apply the drop shadow settings from above.

Step 6

Go to Effects/Plugins/VM Distortion/Kaleidoscope and use these settings:

Divisions 107  Rotation 79

Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.

Step 7

Open up the ellipse psp file. Copy and paste it to the top of your tag.

Go to Layers/Arrange/Move to Bottom so that the ellipse is not showing but is beneath the white layer.

Step 8

Open up your layer palette and make sure you are now on the ellipse layer.

Left click the magic wand using the settings from above and left click inside the large circle of your tag to select it.

Open up your layer palette again, and this time make sure you are now on the top layer. Do not deselect you will need to use this elliptical selection.

Step 9

Open up your tube image and go to Edit/Copy.  Make your tag image active and go to Edit/Paste as New Layer and place your image within the elliptical selection.  You are placing this tube image as the top layer.

Go to Selections/Invert.  Click the delete key and go to Selections/Select None.

DO NOT APPLY A DROP SHADOW. The reason is, if you do apply one, the edges of the image you just placed will have a ragged look.

Step 10

Open up the Lori Flower Vines. Using your freehand selection tool, draw a selection around one of the vines and copy and paste it as a new layer to your tag

Add the drop shadow from above.

Step 11

Go to Layers/Duplicate and Image/Mirror.  Left click the mover tool and place the mirrored image on the other side of the tag, preferably parallel to the original flower vine.

Step 12

Add your copyright information.

Step 13

If you want a smaller tag, go to Image/Resize using the percent option, bicubic and resize all layers checked and save this as a psp or psd file.

You now have a tag template with all your layers in place (in case you want to make changes to them).

Step 14

All that is left is to add your text, go to Layers/Merge/Merge all (flatten) and save as a jpg.

We hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
