DAISIES AND BUTTERFLIES

Supplies

Jasc/Corel's Paint Shop Pro.

Tube of Choice  -  For this tutorial, I used a delightful image created by Suzanne Woolcott.  You can purchase her wonderful art in tube and full form at AMI which stands for Artistic Minds, Inc.

Accessories - The daisies and butterfly tube graphics were tubed by me using the graphic images from Microsoft Clipart Media - a great place for graphics.   Also included are the animated daisy, a daisy template, for the background, and the Daisymae font for the text.

Please remember, when creating your signature tags, to only use permission art and to apply the copyright information on the tag.  If  you have purchased a commercial image, do add your license number as well.

**When creating your Signature tags with Paint Shop Pro, do remember to save continually.  Nothing worse than to use up your memory resources and lose everything!**

CREATING THE BASIC TAG

Step 1

Open up the daisy template. You will see it is in black and white.  What you will do is colorize it.  You can use the same colors I used, or select the colors you like.

Step 2

At the Material Palette, left click the top color box and set it to a solid color for your tag.  I used Yellow, #f6fc42. Left click the magic wand and use the settings from above.  Left click the magic wand again and left click it within the design areas you wish to colorize.

Go to Selections/Modify/Expand 1 and flood fill the selection with the color you chose. Go to Selections/Select None.

If you want it to look exactly like mine, just click in those areas where you see yellow.

Step 3 (Optional colorization)

I didn't colorize further because once we go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten), the transparent areas will become white.  But, if you want another color other than white for the remainder of your tag, just repeat Step 2 and select another color.

 Step 4

Open up your main graphic image and go to Edit/Copy.  Make the tag graphic active and go to Edit/Paste as New Layer. If the image is too large, go to Image/Resize using the percent option, bicubic and Resize all Layers NOT checked. Left click the mover tool and move the image to where you want it on the tag.

Step 5

Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and use the settings from above.

Step 6

Open up all the accents that came with the zip file (there are 3 flower tubes and 3 butterfly tubes.  Copy and paste the accents you want to your tags.   Refer to Step 4 above for to resizing and placing your images. Refer to Step 5 for the drop shadow settings.

Once you have all your images where you want them, go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten).

Step 7

Go to Layers/New Raster Layer and add your text (either using the DaisyMae font or your own favorite font.

Step 8

Go to Layer/New Raster Layer and add your copyright information.

Go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (Flatten).

Step 9

Go to Image/Resize using the percent option at about 85%, Bicubic and Resize all Layers Checked.

Step 10 (Optional)

If your image looks a bit dull from resizing, go to Adjust/Sharpness/Sharpen.

Step 11

Left click the crop tool and going from left to right and down, draw a rectangle around the area you wish to keep, eliminating any areas that are not used. Double left click within the rectangle or at the crop ribbon, left click the check mark.
