31 Mar After arriving to the alpine town Franz Josef, we decided to take a half day hike (the steepest commercially guided hike in the world) on the glacier. Laura and I seem to be quite excited about that.
After a 10 minute rainforest section we reached the front of the glacier. It seems so close but it was 3 kms away and it took us 45 mins to reach the actual glacier's front.
Aaaaand off we go! Boots were provided and they SUCKED! Missed my own hiking boots very VERY much.
Hiking in jeans... yes, I do it with style.... At times it was a bit difficult to climb as the jeans are not streching at all.
Finally we reached the glacier and oh boy was it ever so WONDERFUL!!! Words cannot describe the feeling. It was so unreal.
We just couldn't stop smiling! Our guide was Swedish and she seemed to know what she was doing :)
