Things that work for me:

Abstain from sugar, alcohol, caffeine, large amounts of carbohydrates, and stress (if possible).  Eat protein with fiber every two to three hours, spirulina between meals, regular sleeping habits, preparing meals ahead of time, exercise, meditating, recognizing symptoms, and educating significant others.
