COMPARISION :
CONVENTIONAL POWER STEERING .VS. ELECTRONIC POWER
STEERING
- In high speed,we can gets lighter to manipulate the the steering
wheel but in low speed or parking it makes difficult to manipulate
the steering wheel.
EPS
CONVENTIONAL
- The steering wheel gets lighter by adjusting steerability in stop
or low speed and provides steering stabiality by adjusting steering
wheel to become heavier in high speed.
- Pump is driven by internal combustion engine
- Hydraulic pump is driven by electric motor
- The conventional power steering is not used the solenoid valve,
so the spool valve moved manually.
- The EPS system have the solenoid valve,so the spool valve moved
according to the amount of electric current.
- The conventional power steering use an open centred valve in the
hydraulic gear which means that when on centre their is an equal pressure
either side of the hydraulic ram.
- Electronic hydraulic power assist steering ,the valve is closed
centred. This means that when the systems on centre, the oil back into
the accumalator and the voute the ram is closed off..
