Hi Guys,  The new stuff never stops!

From Ninco: In the car department we have Hummers…. Not my first choice for a racer, but still a neat idea.  Available are a yellow street version ( #50457) with suspension and lights and a Police Version (#50456) also with suspension and working lights $69.99 each.

In the race department, yet another visually outstanding livery for the very competitive Renault Megane.  This is the orange Frutta livery, with the NC5 Speeder Motor (50437) $55.99.

For the builder/classic car enthusiast there is a new Ninco kit, this is the Ferrari 250 Testa Rosa in red with white stripe, #9.  These kits are really high quality stuff and the classics have really caught on with most as a separate race class.  This kit comes with the new NC8 thruster motor which Ninco feels is the replacement for the NC1.  The NC8 is 16,000 RPM at 14.8 Volts vs. 15,700 RPM  at 14.8 Volts for the NC1.  The NC8 is rated 100mA/87gxcm and the NC1 is 125mA/74gxcm.  Most of the seasoned racers still prefer the NC1 and this is an easy swap.  (#50470) $69.99.

From Fly:  There has been lots from Fly these past couple of weeks.  First up is a Duokit.  This is yet another way to sell product and is actually a pretty good deal.  What you get a completely built up Chevron B21 in the Dinitrol whte/red/blue livery with an EXTRA B21 body kit.  The shell is completely finished but the interior/driver need to be assembled and are included.  $69.99 (#88299)

The next kit from Fly is yet a different type of offering.  This kit has a completely finished Jackie Ickx Ferrari 512S CL body (Coda Lunga) which you have to put the interior, exhaust stacks, etc into a completely finished (beautiful paint) body.  The chassis requires a complete build from the ground up.  (#88289) $74.99.  I guess the price is justified by the cool red base and display that comes with the kit.

The Red Lobster BMW M1 from the 24 hours of Daytona race in 1980 is ready to run and is #88315, $74.99.

Lastly come two limited edition cars, both are beautiful and both are e$pensive.  First comes the dark blue Gulf Ford GT40 (yet another Jacky Ickx ride)  complete with a DVD and booklet on the Ford GT40.  (#99038) $99.99

The other beautifully boxed car is the Porsche 917K driven by Tony Adamowicz in the 9 hours of Kyalami race in 1970.  This is # 99074 also $99.99.

For those who long for the days when Fly cars were $44.99, and it wasn’t that long ago, the company is barely more than a decade old, NSR isn’t going to help you relive those days.  From NSR:  NSR makes some monstrously fast slot cars right out of the box.  The new range of Renault Clio’s is no exception.  Coming in both yellow and blue liveries, these cars are bursting with NSR slot technology.  The plastic look wheels are inserts hiding some of NSR’s best aluminum rims, the tires could double as fly paper they are that sticky, the chassis comes with either a Shark or a King motor and is a two piece floating affair for better handling.  Shown is #1015 Renault Clio R3 in Presentation Blue with the King Motor, $108.95.  (see Fly cars aren’t THAT expensive!)

From SCX:  Everyone seems to be doing a Peugot 908 HDI FAP and SCX just joined the fray.  Their car has some of the nicest paint I have seen in the various representations of this Le Mans contender.  While the car lacks an interior the paint is so well done you don’t realize it at first.  There is no performance data available on this car yet.  #62710, $

From Slot it: Slot it has released the white (unfinished/kit) version of their Nissan R390.  This kit comes with an extra anglewinder chassis and is a friendly $47.99.  (SICA05Z)  The Nissan chassis is available separately (SICs04T-AW) for $5.99.

From Scalextric:  Just one item in from Scalextric and that is their long awaited Gear Puller tool.  I haven’t had a chance to test it but it ‘appears’ to be a quality item despite the fact that the body of the tool is plastic.  $15.99 C8401.

Lastly from Model Car Racing comes issue #38, $6.95.

That’s all for now.  I hope to see you all soon.  Joe
