Hi
Guys, More new stuff on the horizon:
From
SCX: new from SCX is the Audi Pro
R8,
From
the SCX release comes the following technical detail for the R8:
The
standard transmission chosen for this model is 10/26, which is a lot – in
order to make high speeds on the straight achievable. The body of the crown
wheel is bronze for greater toughness. You can experiment with the different
gearings which are possible with these SCX® PRO models.
Aluminium hubs and
balanced axles. New crown wheels, new pinions and multiple setting points.
Innovative movable motor bed, so that the motor and rear axle assembly can move
in all directions (inertia, lengthwise and dynamic side pivoting movement).
Adjustable and blockable.
First
car on the market with dynamic internal gripper braking, plus the option of
removing this feature.
The
overhauled pick-up guide works better in the slot, even on fast sections of
chicane, where the tail end moves freely, a safety feature which is highly
prized while racing.
The
movement of the motor bed was exploited to create a gripper brake (white rubber)
which touches the crown wheel when the car slows down, increasing its already
considerable potential braking force, so that braking can be harder than ever.
With the brake in use (it is removable), the car behaves as it would without it
during acceleration and on the straight, but not when it goes into a bend.
A
long-case Mabuchi-type motor bed different from the standard one used for other
manufacturers’ motors was created, with the same exterior measurements as the
car’s original bed. The Audi R8 PRO can take any motor without losing
either the character or the behavior provided by the geometry of its chassis.
From
Carrera:
Carrera
is releasing the first of their Digital 124 cars.
They are the only manufacturer to offer digital in all three scales.
ALL 1/24 cars released this year will be digital.
They will however run on an analog track without modification.
Unfortunately all will be priced as digital cars.
The first releases are two hot rods, the first is a rework of their very
successful ’34 Ford, this time in bright yellow (#23717), the other a ’41
Chevy in orange/bronze metallic (#23718) $65.99
each.
Continuing
with the digital theme, two Digital 132 cars are also offered, the first is a
racing version Porsche 935 GTR (#30409) and the second, also a Porsche, is a 911
in Arctic Silver Metallic ((#304370 $49.99 each.
Again either will run on Digital 132 or analog.
Finally,
a beautiful pair of Porsche 911’s and Audi R8’s are offered in analog.
The Porsches come in dark gray metallic (#27243) or red (#27242).
The Audis are offered in Periwinkle Blue (#27241) or Ice Silver Metallic
(27240). All analog cars continue at
$41.99.
