Hi Guys,

With the nice weather upon us you might expect the slot car hobby to be slowing down.  It is nice to report just the opposite is happening here at the store.   Just in from Germany is my first Bauer refill in quite some time.  With the weak dollar and the strong Euro (currently $1.61= 1 Euro), the cars which just came in cost more but as the photos show they are certainly worth it.  The stars of the Bauer shipment are four new cars with one more on the way.  While just a few short months ago, I thought Bauer was finished in the hobby, these latest cars make me very glad he is not.  First up is a spectacular Mercedes Benz AMG 300SEL 6.8 which raced at Spa in 1971.  As you can see from the photos, the level of detail rivals many 1/32 cars.  Limited to 250 cars world wide these are already selling fast, $110.99. There will be a mate to this car in a limited edition MB-AMG in yellow.  These cars are expected in late May/early June.  Reservations for this limited edition are suggested.

Next up is the Mercedes arch rival (Opel) Steinmetz Commodore.  Not as familiar in the US as the Mercedes the Steinmetz is the version that raced at Spa in 1970 and is also beautifully done.  $110.99.

Also new are two Mercedes Benz 280’s, the first a dark blue 280SE 3.5 and the second a white 280 SE described on the box as white/gray. $89.99 each.

Back in stock from Bauer are some 25 different models including the long out of stock Wohnwagen (travel trailer) in light gray, $62.99 and the trailer with motor boat, pure 1960’s, for $41.99.  I will be updating the listing on my website shortly so check out your favorites.

Also in this week are many refills from JW.  Get the best selection of race parts by calling or stopping by early.  They go fast!

While it is mostly 1/32 slot cars, the new issue, #39, of Model Car racing is now in stock, $6.95 and the latest Scale Auto Racing news (all scales) is available, now $6.50.

Coming in two weeks from Dash and hot on the heels of their very detailed and successful AC Cobra and racing Camaro is a 1960’s era VW Karmann Ghia.  It will be available in several colors and bodies only will be $10.99.

See ya soon.  Joe
