Activities

Pre-Online Meeting Activities

1. Reading Activity

The students will read the material on TPR prepared by Arnold Muhren specially for this project. This will give the students a chance to gain basic knowledge about TPR. Any questions regarding the subject can be forwarded to Arnold during the conference.

2. Listening Activity

The students listen to a pre-recorded audio material (in wav file) prepared and presented by Arnold Muhren himself. The audio file features Arnold's voice in crisp and audible quality. This activity allows students to listen to a foreign teacher discuss about a specific Academic content that is specially created with them (the students) in mind.

Online Meeting

1. The students will meet Arnold Muhren online for the first time. The platform that will be used is Yahoo Messenger's Voice Conference tool. However, discussions will primarily be text-based so as to avoid technical foul-ups (i.e. computer crashing, hanging or complete stand-still). Voice  will be used after the conference and as part of the social event activity.

2. Students will listen and receive instructions from Arnold Muhren for a hands-on workshop based on the lessons learnt.

3. Because of the size of the class, only 12 students will participate during the online discussion, while the other half reads what's being discussed (in Yahoo Messenger) via projector. The non-chat participants won't feel alienated since they will also be asked to observe and read the contents of the discussion and later participate in the hands-on workshop.
