“Make and Mends” Overnight Training

#189 NLCC Oromocto is having an over-night training session March 16-17.  This will be a dry run for the Squadron Adventure Training Weekend at Camp Holderville in April. Please have your Cadet at the Maritime Club at 6:30 p.m., Friday evening, March 16th. Ensure they have had a good supper before they arrive. Permission slips and deposits must be filled out and brought with your cadet. 
Training will include a Dance at the D-22 Maritime Club with a snack, Separate Accommodations in D-21 2RCR Training Building with same gender supervision, a Fire Drill, Rotating all night fire picket with an adult Duty Officer awake at all times, Morning Ablutions, Cereal and Juice Breakfast, Colours, Cleaning Stations, Issue of uniforms,
Classes in care and usage, BBQ Lunch, Drill classes, Movies if time permits, and Sunset. Parents are to pick up their Cadet to return home at 4 PM on the 17th.
As boots are not issued with the Navy League Cadet uniform, surplus boots may be purchased at several locations in Fredericton or St John. Black, non-service high top shoes may be worn in lieu but are not to be platform, suede, or patent leather. The shoe should still be able to be laced and polished, and should be plain.

KIT LIST

One change of clothing,     Extra socks ,  Sports gear (to sleep in),
T-shirt(s) – no tank tops or muscle shirts,   Sneakers,   Comb/brush,
Proper Black Footwear for uniform, sneakers,  Toothbrush & toothpaste  Towel/facecloth/soap,
Feminine Hygiene Products if required,  Old pair of Nylons (for boots), Soft type boot brush,
Hairpins or elastics for putting hair up in bun,. Kiwi type Parade Gloss Boot Polish, Spit,
Kiwi type boot cloth or old COTTON T-shirt, Small sewing kit (available at Dollar Rama),
2 Old Tooth Brushes, 1 for boot polish, 1 for cleaning Cap,    Knife/fork/spoon,
Sleeping bag & pillow,    Flashlight,   Plate and Cup,

ITEMS NOT PERMITTED: JACK KNIVES, MATCHES, WALKMANS, RADIOS, GAMEBOYS, ETC.
Please be sure your Cadet packs accordingly. Make sure all clothing and effects are marked with your cadet’s name. The Canteen will be available but please do not have your Cadet bring more than 5 dollars. Please leave all valuables at home.  We are not responsible for lost or missing items.

Any medication that your Cadet requires needs written parental permission for Officers and staff to administer it to your Cadet. If your Cadet has allergies or special dietary needs please contact one of the Officers below ahead of time.  Please write times, doses and permission on the permission slip for camp.  Permission slips are to be filled out and returned  with your cadet/cadets on or before 16 March 01.
Parents will be called for any Cadet who complains of feeling ill, is un co-operative or brings in contraband items.
