The Navy League of Canada administers the Navy League Cadet program. It is for youth from age 9 years 8 months to 13. Recriuting for the current training year begins 1 September. Each cadet must be 10 years of age by December 31st of the current training year due to insurance requirements. The goals of this program are to develop good citizenship, patriotism, self-respect, self-discipline, healthy living, and respect for others. This is done in a nautical environment with a training sylabus suited for young people. We believe in a fun, participatory, environment where all youth can be included. The variety of the program helps ensure there is something for everyone. And most of the activities are FREE!!! (Cadets and their parents will be asked to participate in fundraising activities). Basic uniforms are provided by the local Branch of the Navy League.
Navy League Cadets are trained and supervised by skilled and motivated volunteers. Each vounteer is carefully screened by the Navy League of Canada with personal background checks carried out by the RCMP. Each vounteer also receives training to ensure your son or daughter can have fun in a safe and positive environment. The safety of your child is our top priority. |
