Chapter 35 Jax brought Brooke to the hospital and Brooke told Ned everything she did today. Ned was relieved to see that Brooke was unharmed. And after getting as much information from a 5 year old he could, Ned asked Jax to take Brooke home and put her to bed. Alexis' Room Ned and Alexis are lying in bed talking while she breast feeds the baby. Ned: Well she seems content. Alexis: that she does. So now that we know Brooke's okay what do you say we give our baby girl a name. Ned: Sounds good to me. Did you have any names in mind. Alexis: Well if you don't mind I'd like to name her after my Mother. Ned: Kristin Ashton .........I like that. Alexis: Actually I was thinking more on the lines of Kristin Lila Ashton. Ned; My Grandmother would be honored, and I love it. (they kiss) Speaking of my Grandmother she said she'd stop by and see you tomorrow. Alexis: I'd like that. Ned: (looking at his watch)It's getting late and I really should be getting back to the house. Alexis: Okay well make sure you give Brooke a kiss goodnight for me. Ned: I will (they kiss) I hate leaving you. Alexis; I know but I'll be coming home tomorrow. Ned; I can't wait. Ned kisses Alexis and his daughter good night before he leaves. Alexis just looks so peaceful lying there holding her little baby girl. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Ashton' Ned: (walking in) Where's Brooke? Jax: (sitting on the couch with Chloe) She's upstairs sleeping. How's Alexis and the baby? Ned: Alexis and the baby are both doing fine and will be home tomorrow. Chloe: Well that's great, so did you give that baby a name yet? Ned: Yes her Name is officially Kristin Lila Ashton. Chloe: Lila is just going to love you for that. Ned: it was Alexis's idea. Jax: Sounds like Alexis. Ned: that it does.......well guys it's been real but I think I'm going to go upstairs, check in on my little girl, take a quick shower and then call my beautiful wife. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Later that night Alexis puts a sleeping Kristin down in her bassinet. She just stands over her a moment and smiles, thinking how wonderful life really can be. Just as Alexis decided to crawl under the sheets and get some shut eye herself the phone rang. Alexis: hello. Ned:(lying in bed) How come you aren't sleeping? Alexis; because I'm talking to you. Ned:(seductively) Oh well in that case what are you wearing? Alexis:(seductively) Well you know me as little as possible, besides this hospital is full of very handsome doctors. Ned: Okay that's it I don't want to play this game anymore. Alexis: (laughing) I miss you. Ned: (pouting) I miss you too, I hate lying in our bed all by myself. (he hears her yawn) Is Kristin sleeping? Alexis; Yes Ned; Good then I want you to follow suit, understand. Alexis: yes sir...... goodnight Honey and I love you. Ned: I love you too and I'll come see you in the AM, right after Lois comes to pick up Brooke. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A few hours later Alexis and Kristin are still sound a sleep when Sonny enters the room. He lends over Kristin with his back towards Alexis and smiles at her. Alexis suddenly feels someone else's presents and jumps up. Alexis: (screaming) Get away from my baby! Sonny: (turning around quickly) Alexis it's only me Sonny. Alexis: (shocked) Sonny? Sonny: I just wanted to see how you and the baby were doing I didn't mean to scare you. Alexis;(tears forming in her eyes) Sonny I'm sorry I shouldn't have yelled at you like that. Sonny: It's okay I'm use to you yelling at me. (he notices the tears and walks over to her) My men are still outside so don't worry nobody is going to get near you or your baby. Alexis: thank you so much Sonny ( she lends up and hugs him) and I take back every bad thing I ever said about you. Sonny: Does that mean you won't yell at me anymore or tell me that you won't represent me again? Alexis: Now your pushing it. Sonny: Thank goodness you had me worried there for a minute. I don't think I could handle you not yelling at me anymore. Alexis: Yea well it's part of my charm. Sonny: (looking at the baby) You know I feel sorry for this kid. Alexis: Why is that? Sonny: Because she looks like a Quatermaine. (they both laugh) Alexis; Why are you here so late? Sonny; because I didn't want Ashton getting on my case about bothering you. Alexis: You're not bothering me Sonny, besides not only are you protecting me and Kristin but you helped him look for Brooke. Sonny: I know but know Brooke is safe and Ashton............. well he's still Ashton. Alexis: he does have a tendency to get jealous. Sonny: Very. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 36 The next morning~ Jax is in the kitchen making breakfast when he hears Ned and Alexis come in. Jax; (walking into the living room) You're just in time I made breakfast. Alexis: (holding Kristin) Thanks Jax but I'm really not all that hungry. (Jax looks disappointed) But it seems good. Jax: And what about you Ashton? I know you didn't eat anything this morning. Ned: Thanks but no thanks. (looks at his watch) besides it's lunch time, and don't you have some place to be? Jax: (confused and they finally catching on) Oh yes that's right I have a meeting at the Grill (looks at his watch) in geez fifteen minutes. (picking up his coat) I'll just leave you to alone. Alexis: Bye Jax (she looks at Ned as Jax leaves) That was kinda rude don't you think? Ned: Why is he still living here anyway? Alexis: Because remarkable enough you haven't kicked him out yet. Ned: (taking the baby from her) I'll have to remember to put that on the top of my to do list. (Alexis laughs as Ned begins to talk to Kristin) Hey there little one look what daddy's got for you. Alexis: She can't see yet. Ned: (giving her a I know that look) Don't you listen to your mommy over there she doesn't know what she's talking about. (he pulls out a cradle from behind the couch) Alexis; Ned that's beautiful. (she takes a closer look at it) and very old. Where did you get it? Ned: (placing Kristin down) The Quatermaine attic. (he kisses her and sits down on the couch pulling her on top of him) It use to be mine when I was a baby. Grandmother had Reginald dig it out and clean it up just for you. Alexis: that was really sweet of her, I'll have to remember to thank her next time I see her. (she kisses him and then jumps back) Oh no........we never decorated the baby's room. Ned: Don't worry about a thing because I took care of everything. Alexis: (lovingly) What did you do? Ned: Well upstairs in Kristin' room there is the perfect shade of pink paint sitting in a can. A whole bunch of Winnie the Pooh wall stickers in a box and all the trimmings to go with it.......(she looks at him confused) you know like Pooh sheets, a pooh blanket, a pooh diaper thing that goes on the wall, and.....(she cuts him off with a quick hard kiss) Alexis; (excited) So when are we going to paint her room. Ned: (stern) As soon as you feel up to it and not a moment sooner. Alexis: (getting up) Well I feel up to it right now. Ned: (pulling her slowly back down) Alexis Ashton you can hardly walk and you want to paint a room? (Kristin cries) I think your daughter is hungry? Alexis; My daughter? Ned: well you're the only one who can feed her She hits him with a pillow as he pinches her ass. Alexis: Ouch (she gets up and picks up Kristin) Ned: I'm sorry I forgot how sore you were down there. (getting up and walking over towards her) Come her let me kiss it and make it all better. Alexis: (pushing him away) no way.........you'd enjoy it to much. Ned: And you wouldn't? Alexis: Now I never said that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A few weeks have past and Ned and Alexis are both beginning to realize how hard being a parent really is. Neither one of them have gotten much sleep since they brought their baby home. Even Jax has taken his turn at walking her back and forth at two AM in the morning. Alexis is starting to regret that she ever began to breast feed her baby, even though it's the most wonderful feeling in the world. Emily has come by a couple of times after school to help Alexis with Kristin while Ned and Jax are at work. The Ashton' Alexis is in the living room pacing back in forth trying to get a crying Kristin to sleep. Ned comes downstairs and takes Kristin from her. Ned: hey there little girl, are you giving mommy a hard time. Alexis: I don't know why she won't stop crying. I feed her, changed her diaper, and even tried to rock her to sleep. Ned: Well no one ever said being a parent was going to be easy. Alexis: (noticing the time) Ned you're going to be late for your meeting, if you don't get out of here. Ned: (Kristin stops crying and Ned lays her down) Don't worry I have plenty of time. (he kisses her good morning) Did you have any thing for breakfast. Alexis: I don't have time to even think about breakfast. Ned:You need to eat something. (he pulls her to the couch and hands her a doughnut) now I want you to get some sleep while Kristin is sleeping I'll be back after my meeting. Alexis: Ned I don't have time to sleep I've got tons and tons of paperwork to go through. Ned: Not today you don't. I've asked Emily and Juan to come over tonight and watch Kristin. (he picks up a folder and his keys) I'm taking you out to dinner, no arguments. (he lends down and kisses her) Now get some sleep. Ned leaves and Alexis looks over at all the paperwork on her desk and sighs. She decides to lay down on the couch for five minutes and rest, before long she was fast asleep. Just short of two hours later Alexis began to stir she looked up at the clock and then jumped back. Alexis: Oh no I can't believe I fell asleep for so long. Helena: Neither can I my dear, I thought you'd never wake up. Alexis looked up at Helena quickly and was upset at the sight in front of her. Helena was sitting in the chair across the room holding Kristin. Alexis' whole body began to shake as Helena rock her baby to sleep. Thoughts of her mother's bloody body came rushing through her as she started to hyperventilate. Helena: It's amazing how much she looks just like your poor Mother. Alexis: (not being able to move) Please give.........her........to me...... Helena:You really should learn how to breathe darling. Alexis: (yelling through the tears that were starting to fall) I want my baby! Jax: (walking through the door) Okay Alexis Ned gave me strict orders to make sure you got some sleep when I got home. Jax notices that something is wrong with Alexis and runs over to her. Jax: (hugging her) Alexis what is it, did you have a nightmare or something? Helena: Oh now isn't that touching your darling ex-husband can still feel sorry for you. Jax turning around and seeing Helena with Kristin immediately gets up and takes the baby from her. Jax: Helena I don't know what you're doing here but I want you to leave NOW! Helena slowly gets up and walks over to Alexis. Helena: She really is a lovely baby, I'd keep a close eye on her if I were you. Jax: Get out! Helena leaves and Jax puts the baby gently down in the bassinet, as to not wake her. He gets up and runs over to Alexis. Jax: It's okay she's gone.........come on Alexis you need to breathe. (he holds her tight and tries to calm her) She's gone and if she knows what's good for her she won't be back. Alexis: (a little calmer) Oh Jax it's just seeing here there holding my baby I....I......I just...... Jax: (kissing the top of her head) shhh it's okay, I'm here. Alexis: (looking up at him and staring into his eyes) Thank you Jax I don't know what she would have done if you didn't show up. Jax; (holding her face in his hands) don't even go there Alexis, she didn't hurt you or Kristin and that's all that matters right now. There eyes interlock and all Jax can see is how lost and afraid she is. He slowly lends his face closer to his so that their lips are just inches apart, and before either of them notice Jax lips are crashing upon hers pulling her into a deep emotional kiss. Alexis responses immediately to him and wraps her arms around his neck, allowing him to wrap his arms around her waist and pulling her tight. The kiss intensifies as he lays her back unto the couch. She begins to absentmindedly play with his hair and he begins to unbutton her blouse. Quickly she pushes him back and unbuttons his shirt as they look into each others eyes. Jax comes down on her and begins to kiss her neck making his way along her collier bone and down to her chest. She moans in excitement as he's hand slowly begins to move up her right thigh and into her underpants. She pulls his head up and kisses him with even more force then before. Out of nowhere she pushes him off of her and wiggles her way out from under him. She stands up and faces him with tears in her eyes, as she begins to button her blouse. Alexis:Jax this is wrong we can't do this. Jax: (getting up and taking her hand) Why not Alexis you want it as much as I do. Alexis: (pulling her hands away and yelling) No I don't! Jax: Yes you do I could feel it. (she turns her back and fix's her skirt) Alexis I have wanted you for so long. (he places his arms around her holding her back against his chest) the only reason I didn't act on it is because I didn't think you wanted the same thing. Alexis: (she tries to pull away but he won't let her) I don't.........I love Ned and don't ever want to hurt him like this. Please Jax just let me go. Jax: (pulling her around to face her) I know you want me Alexis just as much as I want you. he pulls her into a deep kiss which at first she tries to fight but then gives into. His hands slide under her blouse as he plays with her bra. Her passion for him is to strong to deny as she allows him to undo her bra and rub her back. His hands careful move down her back and into the back of her skirt as she whispers in his ear "I do want you Jax". With that Jax picks her up and carries her up to his room. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter 37 Jax carries Alexis into his room and shuts the door behind him. He throws her down unto the bed and begins to undo his pants. She sits up and kisses his chest with more passion then she ever thought possible. He discards his pants and bends down in front of her to kiss her. Alexis jumps and pushes him back when she hears Ned come through the front door. Ned: (yelling from the living room) Sweetheart where are you, I have a surprise for you. Alexis: Oh god Ned' home. (she quickly gets up and turns to Jax) Don't you dare say a thing to him about this. Alexis leaves the room and heads to her own to take a shower, Jax meanwhile falls unto his bed and sighs in frustration. Ned picks up Kristin and brings her up to his bedroom. When he walks in he hears the shower running, he begins to laugh. Ned: Hey Honey it's me and Kristin. You know Alexis if you're going to try and take a shower while she's a sleep you really have to learn how to take a quick one. I mean now that you have a little one I'm sorry dear but no half hour showers unless I'm home. (looking at Kristin and whispering) and in there with her. Alexis; (nervous) I'm sorry Honey I'll be right out. Ned: Oh don't hurry on our account we'll be just fine. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ About a half hour later Alexis comes out of the bathroom to find Ned rubbing Kristin' back who is fast a sleep. Alexis; (trying not to look at him) So how'd your meeting go? Ned: it went so great that I got you this. (he hands her a long jewelry box) Alexis:(feeling guilty) Ned you shouldn't have, I don't deserve this. Ned: you're right (she gives him a worried look and he laughs) You deserve a lot more. (he pulls her down onto the bed next to him) Have I told you lately how much I love you. Alexis; (rubbing the side of his face but still not looking him in the eyes) You tell me all the time. Ned; Well I don't tell you nearly enough. (while kissing her neck) Well go on open it. Alexis opens the box to find a heart shaped locket attached to a 24 karat gold tri color rope chain. Alexis: Ned it's beautiful. Ned; (still kissing her neck and driving her crazy) open it. Alexis: (feeling even more guilty) Ned I love this. Ned: Well I figured if a put a picture of me on one side and Kristin on the other then you can wear it around your neck and always have the two people who love you unconditional close to your heart. Alexis: (crying) Ned I love you so much. Ned:(wiping her tears away) Well if I wouldn't have know how well you would of liked it I would have given it to you sooner. Alexis picks up Kristin and places her into the cradle at the end of their bed. She turns back to Ned and pulls him into a deep kiss. She needs to show him how much she loves him and needs him. Ned undoes her robe and pulls her down on top of him. He then rolls her over and they both quickly discard his clothing. She pulls him into her and they begin to make love. Alexis doesn't know if it's out of guilt or love but for the next two hours they share the most magical time together completely interlocked with one another. Neither of them notice Jax walk up to their bedroom door, which they left open. He just stares at them for a moment as the tears roll down his face. He closes his eyes and sighs before slowly walking back to his room. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jax is in his room staring at his bed and thinking about what almost and should have just hours before happened. He decides the best thing he could do for his best friend would be to pack his bags leave town for good. He knew Alexis wanted him as much as he wanted her and it would be nearly impossible for them to live together in the same town let alone the same house and not act on those feelings. Alexis really did love Ned and he made her happy. He didn't want to do anything that would destroy the perfect little family that she created for herself. She worked to hard and came to far for it to all end because of him. Jax was now more then before in love with his best friend, and some how he had to let those feelings go, for her sake as well as his. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alexis lays in bed with her head on Ned' chest. She can't get Jax or what they almost did but shouldn't have even come close to out of her head. Jax was her best friend and that's all he ever could be. She loved Ned with her whole heart and soul, she swore to herself that when she married Ned it was going to be forever. They hadn't even been married for six months and she almost made the biggest mistake of her life. She wanted to tell Jax he needed to move out but didn't want to lose his friendship, she knew that what ever happened from here on out things between them would never be the same. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ned dreamt of only happy thoughts while he slept. He kept picturing the future and what it held for him, Alexis and their sweet little girl. He rolled over in his sleep and held Alexis tight, there was no way he was ever letting her go she was his soul mate and the love of his life. Alexis kissed his chest when he rolled over towards her and he began to wake up.
