| Chapter Nine V and Simon’s penthouse. “Sweetie, you have to tell Jax about them.” V said as she laid on the couch and Simon paced back and forth. “I suppose your right.” Simon sighed. “I’m always right.” V said smiling. “Alright, I’ll tell him.” Simon agreed bending down over to kiss V. The Gatehouse. Kristina, Jax, and Alexis are all in the living room talking – It’s the day before Christmas Eve – Ned has gone to pick up Brooke. Lois is allowing him to have him this year for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. “Well I definitely think we need a Christmas tree in here.” Kristina said looking around. “We? You don’t live here anymore.” Alexis said. “Well, it has a lot of positive energy around there.” Kristina said pointing to wall where the windows are. “Have you met Reginald?” Alexis asked after a pause, as she rolled her eyes. Alexis and Jax laughed. “YES, I have met him.” Kristina said exasperated. They all laughed. A knock at the door interrupted them. “I’ll get it. It’s probably Ned with Brooke.” Alexis said still laughing, as she got up half running to the door and swung it open eagerly to be met face to face with Lady Jane and John Jacks. Alexis screeched like a little girl. “Lady Jane!” She cried embracing her. “John!” she continued hugging him as well. “Mom, Dad. What are you doing here?” Jax asked standing up from his place on the couch, where he had his arm around Kristina. “It seems like you always ask us that whenever we show up.” Lady Jane said as she and John stepped into the house. Alexis laughed. “Yes, that’s true.” she said. “Oh, Lady Jane, John. This is my sister–Jax’s girlfriend–Kristina.” Alexis said making the introductions. “Well, this is the famous Kristina. Jax has been going on and on about you in all his letters!” Lady Jane said greeting Kristina. “Hi. Nice to meet you.” Kristina said shaking hands with them both. “Alexis, dear, Jax told us about you and Ned and the baby and we wanted to come and see how you were doing. We thought we might stay in Port Charles until the baby is born.” Lady Jane said turning to Alexis. Alexis put her hands over her heart. “Oh Lady Jane, I would love that! And you must stay here with Ned and I. I insist.” she said hugging her. “Oh no dear, we don’t want to intrude. We already got a hotel. If you really need us, later after the baby is born then we will if you want, but for now we’ll just stay at the hotel.” Lady Jane said. “Alright, if I can’t convince you!” Alexis said shrugging. She shrunk down into the armchair. They all looked up to hear the door open as Ned walked in with Brooke. “Lexi!” Brooke screamed as she ran to Alexis. Alexis picked her up and put her on her lap. “Brooke, you remember Uncle Jax and Kristina my sister?” she asked the girl. “Hi.” Brooke said shyly as Kristina waved to her. “Brooke these are my very good friends Lady Jane and John.” she said introducing her. “Are they your parents?” Brooke asked Alexis. “Well not really but sometimes I feel like they are since my mom and dad are in heaven.” Alexis explained. “Oh Okay. Hi.” Brooke waved to Lady Jane and John. “Hello Lady Jane, John.” Ned said . “What a surprise.” “Lady Jane and John are going to stay in PC until the baby is born.” Alexis said looking up at Ned, who was standing behind her. “Great.” Ned said smiling at them and bent down and kissed her. “Oh, Lady Jane, could you watch Brooke for us for a little while? We have a doctor’s appointment.” Alexis asked. “Oh sure, I would love to.” Lady Jane said smiling. “Brooke, why don’t you stay with Lady Jane while your daddy and I go to the doctor.” she said. “Alright.” Brooke said. She scooted off Alexis’s lap and Kristina led her over to Lady Jane. “Well Jax and I are going to go get a Christmas Tree.” Kristina announced. “Fine.” Alexis sighed. Everyone laughed, including Brooke. Then Krissy and Jax left to get the tree and Ned and Alexis left for their appointment. Later, the doctors’ office. Alexis is on the table and Ned is standing beside her holding her hand. “Hey Ned, I was thinking about something.” Alexis said looking up at him sadly. “What?” he asked. “Well if it’s a girl I thought we could maybe give her another name.” Alexis said. “Another name? So what, she’s have a choice?” Ned laughed. “No silly. I meant another middle name.” Alexis explained. “Well I guess. What name did you have in mind?” Ned sighed. “Chloe.” Alexis said softly. “Aw, honey. I think that’s a great idea. “ Ned said. “But don’t you think that’s an awful big name for a little girl?” he asked. “Yeah, that’s the only problem.” she said. “Why don’t you go see Lila later.” Ned suggested. “Yeah, alright.” Alexis agreed as the doctor came in. “Hello Ned, Alexis.” Dr. Newman said looking up from her clipboard. “Hi Dr. Newman” Alexis replied back. “Did you guys want to know the sex of your baby?” she asked. “Yes please.” Ned told her. “Alrgiht, it appears like you are having a girl.” she said. “Looks like you were right.” Ned said smiling at Alexis. “Yeah.” Alexis said tears springing in her eyes. “Congratulations.” Dr. Newman said. “Thanks.” Ned and Alexis said in unison. “Oh Alexis don’t forget to pick up your vitamins at the desk before you leave.” Dr. Newman said before turning around and leaving. “Alright.” Alexis said before Dr. Newman left. Alexis carefully scooted off the table with Ned’s help. She picked up her purse and they left for the Nurses Station. Bobbie was on duty. “Hey Bobbie.” Alexis greeted the older woman. “Oh hi Alexis, Ned. I heard about your marriage. And the baby. Congratulations.” she said smiling. “Thanks Bobbie.” she said. “Dr. Newman said I was suppose to pick up some kind of-“ Alexis started. “Here’s your vitamins.” Bobbie said handing her a brown paper bag. “I’ll be right back honey.” Ned said kissing her on the cheek as he disappeared into the hallway. “Okay.” Alexis said but he was already gone. She rolled her eyes at Bobbie. “I don’t get all this pregnancy stuff Bobbie.” Alexis confessed. “Aw, you’ll do fine. Hey you wanna have lunch with me tomorrow?” Bobbie asked . “Yeah, that’s be great.” Alexis said relieved. “Say the Grille, around one o’clock?” Bobbie suggested. “Sure.” she said. “Great.” Bobbie agreed. “Bye.” Alexis waved as she spotted Ned by the elevator. “Bye. See you tomorrow.” Bobbie called after her as Ned and Alexis got on the elevator. Chapter 10 “We’re back!” Ned called as Ned and Alexis walked into the Gatehouse. “Oh great! Just in time!” Kristina said. “In time for what?” Alexis asked nervously seeing the Christmas Tree in the corner. “To decorate the tree!” she said happily. “God, you get more like Chloe every day.” Alexis yelled humorously. “Thank you.” Kristina smiled. “I don’t’ decorate anything.” Alexis said. “What are you talking about? You decorated our place a couple years ago.” Jax cut in. Kristina looked at Alexis. “Thank you. You’re helping me SO much.” She said sarcastically. “You’re welcome. It’s part of my charm.” he said . Ned rolled his eyes. “Come on sweetie. Get in the spirit.” Ned said. “Fine.” Alexis said removing her coat and gloves and slipping off her shoes. “LEXI!” Alexis turned around to see Brooke rushing down the stairs. Lady Jane and V weren’t far behind. “Hi sweetie. Did you have fun with Lady Jane?” Alexis asked bending down to give Brooke a hug. “Yup. She’s really fun.” Brooke giggled. “I’m glad. You want to help us decorate the Christmas Tree?” she asked gently. “Yup!” Brooke nodded her head energetically. Alexis laughed. “Alright. Come on.” she said getting up from her bended knee position and leading her over to the tree. “Why don’t you go with Aunt Kristina?” she whispered to Brooke who nodded. Alexis walked over to Ned and gave him a hug. “I’m kind of tired sweetie. I think I’ll go upstairs.” she said. “Okay.” he nodded. “I’ll come with you Alexis. I have to ask you something.” V said following Alexis. Alexis nodded. “So what’s up?” Alexis asked V as she carefully changed into sweatpants and one of Ned’s white t-shirt. She then pulled her hair up in a ponytail and sat on the bed Indian style where V was sitting. “I need to tell you something. About Simon and me.” V said quietly. “What’s wrong? You guys aren’t splitting are you?” she asked worried. “Oh no. It’s about Simon’s ‘business’” V said using her fingers as quotes when she said business. “His ‘business’? “ Alexis asked repeating the motion. “Alexis, it’s about Jax.” she said quietly. “What about Jax?” she asked quietly. “Brenda and Chloe are both still alive.” she said. “What?! V, what are you talking about? I saw Chloe’s body. She’s dead.” Alexis said tearful. “No, they are as much alive as you and I are.” V said seriously as Alexis looked on panicked. “Breathe Alexis.” V said after a minute as Alexis took deep breaths, remembering her daughter. |
