Jake’s. Elizabeth, Lucky, Nik, Zander and Gia were at a table. Rose was home with the nanny.

Ned walks in.

Zander sees him and motions him to come over.

“Zander, where the hell have you been! I’ve been trying to find you forever!” Ned yells.

“Whoa! Ned, take it easy. What’s wrong?” Nik asks standing up.

“Zander,” Ned starts his voice softing. Zander realizes something has happened and his eyes fill with fear. He glances at Lucky and everyone pays attention to Ned. “Emily was in a train wreck.” Ned said.

“Oh God no.” Zander says very near tears. Everyone else joins in as well, fearing for their friend.

“How bad is it?” he asks.

“She’s not in a coma but she can’t feel her legs and they’re not sure if she’ll walk again.” Ned tells them and they all gasp.

Then they all follow Ned out of Jake’s to the hostpital.

Zander rushes into the hospital followed by Ned, Elizabeth, Lucky, Nikolas and Gia.

Zander makes a beeline for Monica and Alan.

“Where is she?” Zander asks paniced.

“She’s in there, talking to Alexis.” Monica says pointing towars the private room that Emily had been moved too.

“Does she know-that she might not be able to walk again?” Zander asked his voice softening.

Alan nodded. “Yes. She’s holding up pretty well with that. Talking to Alexis has helped but she needs you Zander.”

Zander walked quietly up to the door, peaking through the window noticing that she looked amazingly well.
Opening the door, he quietly knocked.

“knock knock.” He said.

“Zander.” Emily said looking up from Alexis, who turned around from her place on the bed.

“Hey. How are you doing?” Zander asked his wife.

“Okay. ” She said.

“Well, I brought you something….sort of a post-wedding boquet.” He said, reaching into his pocket and pulled out a pack of purple pixie sticks and handed them to Emily.

“Pixie Sticks.” Emily said quietly.

“Pixie Sticks.” Zander said looking into Emily’s eyes.

“Pixie Sticks?” Alexis asked confused.

Zander and Emily jumped at the sound of Alexis’ voice, forgetting that she was in the room.

“Yeah. When we were on the run, Zander always brought me grape pixie sticks.” Emily explained.

Alexis nodded understanding.

“Well, I’ll leave you two alone for a while.” Alexis said getting up looking at Emily with care.

“Oh, Alexis could you send my friends in?” Emily asked.

“Sure.” Alexis said near tears and walked out closing the door behind her and directed Elizabeth, Lucky, Nik and Gia into Emily’s room.

The next day. Emily is doing much better and there isn’t a doubt that she will gain conciousness in her legs soon. Ned and Alexis are at their house when there is a knock at the door.

“Stefan.” Alexis said surprised to see him as she and Ned opened the door.

“Alexis, I have come across some very important information regarding Helena that I think you should know. Both of you.” He adds looking at Ned. Stefan had learned how important it was to share certin information with people outside the family since he and Chloe had started dating.

“What?” Alexis asked her knees weakening. She grabbed Ned to steady her. The three of them continued to the couch, where Stefan sat in an armchair across from Ned and Alexis.

“I think you better read these documents. Just the first few pages.” Stefan said sliding a manilla envolope across the coffee table that seperated them.

Alexis took the envolope and carefully unsealed it and took out a stack of papers. With Ned looking over her shoulder they began reading the pages, one by one. First were obituaries.

“Those are the obituaries of any Cassadine or anyone involved with a Cassadine.” Stefan explained.

Alexis went through all of them, noticing that her mother’s wasn’t among them. Ned knew it too but neither spoke of it.

Next was a single sheet, what her and Stefan always called a ‘History Sheet’. It told the entire history of the person. Locations they had resided in, spouses, children, death date, birth date, sibbilings, parents, amung other things.

“Oh God.” Alexis said her face draining of color and noticed that Ned’s face was white as a ghost.

At the top was the name, Kristen Bergmen. She saw that Kristen had a sister that she had not known about. Her birthdate as well as Alexis’ name under children. She noticed that written beside the words  deathdate was nothing. Kristen Bergemen, Alexis’ mother was still alive.
Alexis and Ned looked up at Stefan in awe.

“But Stefan, How?” Alexis managed to say, her voice cracking. Ned squeezed her hand for comfort.

“Well, first of all, we must not tell Helena. You will notice that Kristen had a sister. Specifically, a twin sister. Her name was Crystal.  On the night that Helena “killed” Kristen she had suddenly gotten strep throat. She asked Crystal to stand in for her. The only problem was that Crystal couldn’t cary a tune so they wired her with a tape of Kristen singing and Crystal just mouthed it. Well, Helena didn’t know this and so she killed Crystal instead of Kristen. What you remember, is your aunt dying, not your mother. When Kristen found out what happened she vowed to get revenge. So she went into hiding, making sure Helena thought she was dead. And it has worked for nearly thirty years.

“Wow.” Alexis said not knowing what else to say. Ned nodded in agreement.

“Well, so do you know where she is?” Alexis asked, over her fear, actually hopeful that she would actually be reunited with her mother.

“No. Not yet. But I will find out.” Stefan said sincerely.

“Hey, what is this?” Ned asked pointing to where the document said grandchildren. Underneath it was neatly printed name unkown. “They put the child’s existance even before it is born?” Ned asked.
“No, quite oposite Mr. Ashton. It takes months to make a change on a document. Seven months at the least. No, that is___” Stefan started to say but stopped when he glanced over at Alexis who was making slashing motions across her throat. He hadn’t realized that Ned didn’t know.

“Well, I really do have to go.” Stefan said gathering up his papers, leaving Alexis the one document.

“Are you sure? You don’t want to stay for some coffee?” Alexis asked hopefully not wanting to tell Ned what she knew she had to tell him.

“No, Chloe and I have an appointment.” Stefan said heading towards the door.

“appointment?” Alexis asked trying not to laugh. Ned was muffling his laughter at the couch.

“Yes, it’s when two people plan to-“ Stefan started to say eyeing the two of them.

“I know what an appointment is Stefan. But I believe the word you are looking for is date. You and Chloe have a date. You have an appointment with the hospital board but you and Chloe have a date.” Alexis said teasing him.

“Fine, Chloe and I have a date. Are you happy Alexis?” Stefan said challenging her.

“Yes, actually I am.” Alexis said smiling.

“Okay, I need to go now.” Stefan said walking out.

“Whoah---are you asking her tonight? “ Alexis asked excitement in her voice.

“If you must know-yes I am. I just hope she says yes.” He said nervously.

“Well, I’ll be damned. “ Alexis said.

“What?” Stefan askd.

“Stefan Cassadine-you are what we normal people call nervous.” Alexis said smiling.

“I am not. Well, maybe a little bit.” Stefan said a smile creeping onto his face.

“She will say yes.” Alexis told him truthfully.

Stefan nodded to her.

“Bye Stefan. I Love you.” Alexis said kissing him on the cheek before he left.

“Love you too.” He said returning her kisses and let himself out.

“So….What do you want to do today? Go visit Emily?” Alexis asked after her brother left, trying to avoid a subject that was unavoidable.

“No. I want you to tell me about what is on this document.” Ned said his voice turning serious.

Alexis sighed and sat down beside Ned. Leaning back in his arms she decided the subject was inevitable and gave in.

“Ned, I have a daughter.” Alexis said quietly.

“Why didn’t you ever tell me before?” he asked softly.

“Helena.” Alexis said simply.

“Whose the father?”  Ned asked cringing as he said it.

“When I was teenager and still lived on the Cassadine Island-I met a man named Andrew and we fell in love. He worked for the Cassadines. He was kind of like the handyman. I found out I was pregnant but before I could tell him he was killed in a plane crash. After I had my daughter I didn’t want Helena to hurt her so I gave her to a friend of mine. I didn’t tell anyone so that no one would get hurt by Helena.

“Does anyone else beside you and Stefan know?” he asked.

Alexis nodded quietly. “Luke and Laura. I used to be really close with Laura after she was raped by Starvros. And she could only keep if for so long before Luke dragged it out of her.” She said.

“Anyone else?” Ned asked.

Alexis shook her head.

“Do you think your mother knows?” Ned questioned.

“I don’t know. I doubt it.” Alexis said.

“Well, I do understand why you didn’t tell me.” Ned said.

“Thanks. I’m sorry really Ned, I am. But there’s one more thing about my daughter that you should know.” Alexis said her voice quavering.

“What?” Ned asked.

“You know who she is.” Alexis said.

“What? You mean she lives in Port Charles?” Ned said.

Alexis sat up and looked at him, face to face.

“Yes.” She said quietly looking down.

“Alexis, who is your daugher?” Ned asked.

“Ned…..Emily is my daughter.” Alexis said, leaving Ned in awe.

“Wh-How? What about Paige?” Ned stuttered.

“When I didn’t want anyone to find out, I gave her up for adoption to Paige, ,who I had met when I was appointed her case in New York with her abusive husband-Paige lived there a short while before moving to Arizona, and then I was informed that Paige had died but I didn’t even know it was Emily unil a few months ago. No one knew where Emily had been sent to live or with whom. And then a few days ago in the mail I received a letter. The post office had recently found a bag of lost mail. About seven years old. In it was a letter from Paige explaing how she was dying and she was sending Emily to live with alan and Monica Quartermaine and was that okay.Anyone who knows her name knows her as Daniel Davis That’s her middle name. Emily Daniel Davis” She said seeking Ned’s forgiveness.

“Oh my God.” Ned said shocked.

“Are you mad?” Alexis asked, barly audiable.

“No, of course not Sweetie.” Ned said lovingly kissing her.

“Okay. Just making sure.” Alexis said still not quite believing her.

“I know you did this to protect me and I know that if I knew, Helena might find out and Emily might be in danger.”  Ned said.

“I just wish that we could convict Helena with the death penelatly just like Sorel was.” Alexis said shaking her head.

“When are they giving him the needle?” Ned asked.

“They did it last week.” Alexis said.

“Alexis, does Emily know that you are her mother?” Ned asked.

“No. She doesn’t even know that Paige wasn’t her real mom.” Alexis said.

“Alexis you have to tell her.” Ned said.

“I know. But I want to wait until she’s out of the hospital.” She said.

“I agree.” Ned said.

Ned and Alexis are surprised to hear the doorbell just then.

They wipe their tears away and Alexis goes to answer it.

She opens the door to reveal Sonny and Carly (played by Sarah Brown)
