Chapter 5 Alexis arrives at the Gatehouse looking for Ned. They have an important meeting with Mr. Miler at 9:00 regarding L&B 's future! Alexis: (entering the Gatehouse, and looking around) Ned Honey are you here? (she looks everywhere for him but can't find him. She thinks he may be up at the main house but decides to check upstairs first)! Neds lying on his back sound a sleep, he's wearing nothing but the covers to keep him warm. Alexis takes off her coat and climbs on top of Ned kissing his neck trying to wake him up. Ned: (slowly opening his eyes)well good morning. You look beautiful. Have I told you lately how much I love you? Alexis: I love you too. Now it's time to get up we have a meeting with Mr. Miller this morning. Ned: (grabbing her arms and pulling her directly on top of him) I'd rather stay in bed. (smiling at her) Got any ideas? Alexis: Ned Ashton we don't have time for that. If you don't get up now...(Alexis tries to get up. Ned rolls her over and is now lying on top of her) Ned: Did anyone ever tell you, you talk to much? (He leans over and kisses her. She kisses him back and then pushes him off of her. She sits up and he rolls over onto his back frustrated) Alexis: Ned you need to get up and get dressed! (Ned grabs her arm and throws her back on to the pillow. He is leaning over top of her.) Ned: I'm not getting dressed, and you have way to many clothes on. How about If I slowly undress you? I would love to run my hands up and down your....... Alexis: Ned Ashton! You should be ashamed of yourself.... Ned: What! You come into my bedroom and throw your lovely body on top of me, kissing me none the less and you want me to get dressed? I'm not going anywhere and neither or you. (He grabs her face and kisses her. He starts to kiss her neck and unbuttons her shirt. Alexis can't fight it anymore and gives in. They make love) Scene II Ned & Alexis arrive at the Grill and are upset to find Edward sitting at the table with Mr. Miler. Ned: Mr. Miler, I'm sorry we're late. I had car trouble on the way over. (Alexis just smiles at him) Mr. Miler: Well that's okay your Grandfather kept me company. Ned: Really! (looking at Edward) Why thank you Grandfather, I can handle things from here. Mr. Miler: No Ned (getting up and shaking his hand) there's no need Edward has summed everything up for me and I'm sorry that we can't do business. ( Ned looks at Edward annoyed) Alexis as always it was a pleasure seeing you. (she nods her head and he leaves) Ned and Alexis sit down at the table with Edward. Ned: what the hell did you say to him. Edward: (smiling and getting up) I simply told him the truth. That L&B was on the merge of bankruptcy, and has no real recording artist at this time. ( He leaves smiling and oh so full of him self) Ned: (putting his face into his hands sighs and then looks up at Alexis) Now what? Alexis: Sweetheart I'm sorry, but we'll figure something out. (getting up and taking his hand) Come on lets go up to my Suite. ( Ned agrees and they head upstairs) They step off the elevator and walk over to her room. Helena walks up behind them. Helena: Well, well what do we have here? ( They stop and turn to look at her. Ned is standing in front of Alexis) Let me guess your going inside for a little..... Ned: What the hell we're doing is none of your business. I think it would be best if you just leave. Helena: Well Alexis my darling now I see why you keep him around. He's not only outspoken but easy on the eyes as well. (her eyes looking him up and down) I say he must be good in bed. Alexis: Your sick...... Ned: (Taking a hold of Alexis) Come on Alexis lets go inside the air out here is getting hard to breathe! (they go inside) Helena:(who is still standing outside the door quietly whispers) Oh Mr. Ashton you think the air is hard to breathe now, just wait. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 6 The Penthouse, it's early morning and Jax has gone off to work. He is unaware that Helena is back in town and doesn't think twice about leaving Alexis alone. Alexis comes down the stairs in her pajamas. She's going over some L&B papers trying to figure out a way to save Ned's company. The phone rings and she picks it up. Alexis: Alexis Davis here! Ned: Ned Ashton here, and how is the lovely Miss Davis this morning? Alexis: That's Jax to you bud, (she laughs) and she's missing you something awful. Ned: Ahh and I miss you. I really wished I could have convinced you to spend the night.... Alexis: Ned you know why I had to leave. We will lose everything if we get caught together. Besides this was your stupid idea remember. Ned: Yes I remember and trust me if I forget your always there to remind me.(He laughs) Alexis: So what do you have planned for today? Something that involves me I hope? Ned: Well I have meetings scheduled all afternoon , but I am free for dinner. Should we say 8 at the Suite, we'll order room services. Alexis: Room services, now that's an excellent idea. Ned: Well okay then I'll see you later. (they start to hang up) Oh wait where will you be today? Alexis: Well I don't have any plans really. So I thought I'd stay in and catch up on some paperwork. Ned: Yuck sounds like fun. Of course the idea of you being home all day makes me feel better. Alexis I need you to promise me something. Alexis: Maybe all depends on what it is. Ned: If you leave the apartment, you call me. Alexis:Ned I'll be fine. Ned: Humor me and say yes. Alexis: Yes! I'll call you if I leave. Happy now? Ned: Very! I love you. Alexis: I love you! (they hang up) Scene II It's around noon and Alexis is sleeping on the couch at the Penthouse, when someone knocks on the door, waking her up. Alexis:Coming! (she opens the door, it's the bell boy, John) John: I'm sorry to bother you Mrs. Jaxs if I had known you were sleeping I wouldn't have bothered you. Alexis: It's fine John. What is it? John: This letter came for you, it's from your brother. He said it was very important that you received it as soon as possible. Alexis: (taking the letter) Thank you John. (she hands him a few dollars and closes the door) I wonder what Stefan wants now. (she opens the letter and reads it) "Dear Alexis I need your help! Something has come up in regards to Nikolas. I need you to meet me at the Country house as soon as you get this letter. Hurry his life may depend on it! Tell no one! Stefan. After reading the letter she doesn't know what to do. She promised Ned she wouldn't leave without telling him, but if she called him he'd insist on knowing where she was going. Time was running out and she didn't have time to think. She picked up the phone and called L&B. Emily: L&B entertainment how can I help you? Alexis: Emily is Ned there? Emily: No sorry Alexis he isn't here at the moment, but he should be back any second. Do you want me to tell him you called? Alexis: (relived that he wasn't there) Yes Emily please tell him that I had to go out and meet with Stefan but that I'll call him later, Bye. ( she hangs up the phone, grabs her coat and keys and heads out the door) Meanwhile Ned returns to L&B. He's not in a very good mood. His business meeting didn't go as well as he had hoped. Emily and Juan are setting on the couch listening to some music. Emily: Oh hi Ned. (looking at the expression on his face) It doesn't look like things went to well. Ned: No that they didn't. Do you know if I have messages. Emily: Oh yea a couple as a matter of fact, they are over there on the desk. Ned: Thanks. Hey why don't you and Juan take off and go get some lunch. Juan: Can we get you anything Mr. Ashton? Ned: No thanks I just want to be alone right now. So take your time. (Juan and Emily leave) Ned puts down the messages he's to tried and aggravated to even read them. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 7 Alexis is driving down a country road, going 10 miles faster then the allowed speed limit. She's not wearing a seat belt. She has 100 things running through her head. She has no idea what's going on. Is Nick going to be alright, why didn't Stefan call her, and mostly how mad is Ned going to be when he finds out she didn't try to reach him on his cell phone? All of a sudden out of nowhere a car comes flying up behind her. He comes along side of her and hits her. She tries to stay on the road but the force of the impact is to hard. She loses control of the car and hits a tree. The impact of the tree forces open her airbag and she is knock unconscious. It's now five o'clock and the sun is already starting to set. Ned is still at the Studio and hasn't come up with any ideas on how to save his company. He's thinking about Brenda and wishing she were there. She'd never let the company get this bad. Jax's walks in. Ned: Hey! If your looking for Chloe she's not here. Jax: Actually I'm not. Chloe is back at the Quatermaines spending the evening with Lila. Ned: Well then what do you want? And why aren't you home with Alexis? Jax: Ned I haven't been home all day. Don't worry Alexis is fine. Ned: What! You left her....... with Helena running around. Jax: Ned calm down Helena isn't even in town. Ned: (picking up the phone) Yes she is, Alexis and I ran into her last night. Damit Alexis why aren't you picking up the phone. ( he hangs up and tries her cell phone, there's no answer. Emily & Juan walk in) Emily: Hey guys. (looking at them) Is something wrong? Ned: Emily did Alexis call at all. Emily: Just earlier today, I gave you your messages. It should be in there. Ned( going through them) Here it is. It say she going to meet Stefan, that was at noon. Emily did she say anything else. Emily: No that was it. Ned: (picking up the phone) I'm calling Stefan! (you can see the panic in his eyes) Stefan: (picking up the phone) What. Ned: Stefan it's Ned Ashton. Where is Alexis? Stefan: I have no idea. I'm not her keeper remember. Why don't you ask her poor choice of a husband? Ned: She left a message saying she was going to meet with you. Stefan: I haven't seen her besides I just got back to town. Now if you can't find her I suggest you contact missing persons. (he hangs up the phone) Jax: Well what did he say? Does he know where she is? Ned: No he says he hasn't seen her. (the panic in his eyes is becoming more apparent) Jax: Maybe he is lying. Ned: No something tells me he's telling the truth. (just then Jax's cell phone rings) Maybe that's her. Jax: Alexis? Monica: No Jax I'm sorry it's me Dr. Quatermaine. I have some bad news. You wife has been in a car accident and she's here at General Hospital. Jax: Thank you Monica Ned and I are on the way. (he hangs up the phone) Alexis is at GH Ned: (grabbing his coat) Come on lets go you can tell me what happened on the way. Scene II Ned and Jax arrive at the emergency room at GH. Monica is standing in the hall talking with Tony. They run over to her. Ned: Monica is Alexis Okay? Where is she? Does anyone know what happened? Monica: Ned you need to calm down. Alexis is going to be fine. (Ned seems to be calming down) Lucky for Alexis her airbag opened and she only grazed the tree. (looking at Jax) Jax both your wife and child are going to be fine. Ned: Did you say child? (Ned & Jax just stare at each other) Monica: Yes, Alexis is at least 13 weeks pregnant. I figured you knew. Jax: I don't think she even knows. Ned: Oh my god, I'm going to be a father again.(Monica just looks at him and can't believe what's she's hearing) I need to see her. Now! Monica: Well they just moved her up to a private room. They want to keep her over night so that they can monitor both her and the baby. (looking at her chart) She's in room 515. Scene III Ned and Jax enter Alexis's hospital room. She's sleeping so peacefully. She has a baby monitor on her stomach and Ned can hear his baby's heart beating. She has a small cut on her forehead, but looks none the worst for wear. Ned walks over to her bed and sits down quietly besides her. Jax just smiles at them, then turns and leaves. A couple hours have passed and Alexis begins to wake up. Ned: Well hello there! How do you feel? Alexis: Are you mad at me. Ned: (taking her hand) Forget about that, are you okay? Alexis: Yea I'm fine, my head hurts a little. But Tony said it should pass. Did they tell you? Ned: Tell me what? (he's smiling at her and she knows he knows) Alexis: So what do you....... think about the idea.......of having a....... Ned: A what? Alexis: Ned, (she looks kinda upset, not sure if this is something that he wants. They've never talked about having children before.) Ned: I think that you look even more beautiful now they you ever did before, and here I thought that was impossible. You know Alexis Davis, you carrying my child is the best thing I could ever ask for. I love you and this baby of ours. (he leans down and kisses her stomach.) Hello in their, this is your daddy. Alexis: Ned I love you too. (he reaches up and kisses her) Ned: I'm so glad you weren't seriously hurt.You should have called me, and yes I am mad at you but right now the only thing I can think of is....... Alexis: What? Ned: The look on grandfathers face when I tell him that a Cassidine is pregnant with a Quatermaines baby. They both laugh. He again reassures Alexis that he is happy about the baby. He climbs up in bed with her and holds her tight. Alexis: Oh no Nik. Ned: He's fine. I think the whole thing was just a set up. Alexis: Helena. Ned: Yea but don't you worry about her right now you need to get some sleep. Well talk about it in the morning. Alexis: But Ned I.... Ned: No close your eyes and just sleep. I promise I'll be here when you wake up. ( she closes her eyes and within minutes is sound a sleep. Ned just lies awake watching her sleep.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 8 Alexis has been released from the hospital. Ned brings Alexis home to the Gatehouse. He carries her through the front doors. Alexis: Ned Ashton I can walk. Just because I'm pregnant doesn't mean you have to baby me. Ned: Oh yes it does, and you better get use to it. ( he carries her over to the couch and puts her down) Are you feeling okay. Alexis: Ned I'm fine, I'm just a little tired. ( he goes over and picks her up) Where are you taking me. Ned: Upstairs so you can sleep. Alexis:Is this the way things are going to be as long as I'm pregnant. Ned: Yes Alexis: Hey who know a girl could get use to this. (he just smiles at her and takes her up stairs to his room) Scene II Ned places Alexis on the bed and lays down next to her. Alexis places her head on his chest and closes her eyes. Ned rubs her shoulder and then begins to play with her hair. Alexis: Ned (very soft spoken) I'm scared. Ned: Of what, Helena? Alexis: No! I'm scared about having a baby. Ned: It will be okay Alexis. Alexis: From what I've been told it hurts really bad. Ned: Yea but just think about what you get out of it, when it's all over. Besides I'll be there every step of the way. I promise. Alexis: Anybody ever tell you that you make to many promises? Ned: I'll only start worrying when you tell me I'm breaking to many promises. Now why don't you try and get some sleep. Alexis: Okay but there is only one other thing that is bothering me. Ned: What's that? Alexis:Well, were both married to other people and ..... Ned: Don't worry about that Jax is taking care of that while we speak. scene III Jax & Chloe are at the Penthouse. He's explaining to her everything that's been happening. Chloe: Wow Ned & Alexis are going to have a baby. Jax: Yes and he's asked me to make the divorce arrangements, but he wanted me to check with you first. Chloe: well of course we should get divorced. Jax they love each other so much and my company isn't worth people believing you are the father of Alexis's baby. Jax: I thought you'd understand. So I'm having the papers delivered here first thing tomorrow morning. Chloe: Well then........ do you mind if I spend the night. Jax: What do you think? (He takes her hand and walks her upstairs) Scene IV The Gatehouse. Ned is downstairs reading the morning paper when the door bell rings. Ned: Oh it's you. Did you take care of everything. Jax: Yes. I did. Here are the papers. I've signed mine and Chloe's signed hers. Chloe: How's Alexis? Ned: She's upstairs sleeping. I think she's more scared about having this baby then anything. Chloe: Well can you blame her I would be too. ( Just then Alexis walks downstairs) Ned: (walking over to her) Good morning sweetheart. Did you sleep okay. Alexis: (kissing him and rubbing the side of his face.) Good morning to you and yes I did. I wish we could spend more nights like this one. I just love waking up in your bed. Although it would have been nicer if you were still in it. Ned: well honey all you have to do is sign your name on these divorces papers and you'll never have to worry about leaving again. Alexis: But Ned.. Chloe: No Alexis this is the right thing to do. We've all talked about it and we all came to the same conclusion. The marriages must end. (Alexis signs her name and hands the papers to Jax) Jax: well my darling wife in a few hours we will no longer be Mr& Mrs Jax. But hey it was fun while it lasted. Chloe: okay, Jax and I are going to get going now but you call if you need anything. Ned make sure she gets plenty of rest. Ned: Oh I will (smiling at Alexis) Bye. Chloe & Jax leave. Ned walks over to the door and locks it. He then walks over to Alexis takes her hand and walks over to the couch with her. Ned: Here sit down and I will make a fire. Alexis: Ned I don't want a fire, I just want you to sit down with me so we could talk. Ned: Okay (they sit. Alexis turns so they are facing each other. She grabs his hands and stares into his eyes.) What did you want to talk about? Alexis: The baby. Ned: Baby names okay, we can name the baby what ever you like. (Alexis looks down. Ned places his hand under her chin and lifts up her face) Hey what's wrong. Alexis: Well we've never even talked about have a child. Are you sure your happy. Ned: Alexis Davis I love you and our baby. I'm so happy that I get the chance to be a father again(you can see the tears starting to form in his eyes) Alexis: Brooke Lynn loves you Ned and your already a father. (she rubs the side of his face and then kisses him) I love you! Ned: I love you too.( He places her face in his hands) I swear to you Alexis we are going to work this out. Our child is going have the best part of each of us, okay more you then me(she laughs). Alexis: Really well you know I'd love to see the best part of you right now. (She gets up and takes his hands) Ned: Well I thought you'd never ask. (He picks her up and carries her up stairs where they make love)
