CHAPTER 12 ~ General Hospital ~ The elevator door opens and Alexis walks out as Emily comes flying around the corner. “Alexis I’ve been looking all over for you.” A panicked Emily states. “Is it Ned?” Alexis asked as she feared the worst. “No Ned’s fine it’s Zander I’m worried about.” “Zander?” Alexis yelled. “You’re cousin could have died and you’re worried about Zander?” “Alexis Ned isn’t going to die but if you don’t help Zander he will.” “Emily I’m sorry but I can’t represent Zander.” Alexis stated as she walked away. “Alexis please he needs your help!” Emily yelled as she run after her. Alexis stopped short. “Emily right now my only concern is Ned and making him see how much I DO love him and need him.” Emily was about to say something but Alexis didn’t give her a chance. “If I took on Zander as a client I wouldn’t be able to prove that to him.” Emily didn’t say a word as Alexis once again walked off. ~*~ ~Ned’s room ~ Alexis walked into the room and over to his bed, placing herself down in the same chair she spent most the night in. “Ned sweetie come on wake up.” Alexis stated as she rubbed his forehead. “Monica said you’d sleep for a while but I really do think it’s time that you opened those eyes of yours.” She lends over and kisses her forehead. “I miss them something awful.” “I miss that.” Ned said shocking Alexis “Welcome back.” “You know I’d never leave you for long.” “Ya well this time you left me for a little too long.” “I’m sorry, I promise it won’t happen again.” “See that it doesn’t.” She shot back. “Give me a reason not to.” Alexis smiled brightly before placing her lips against his. The kiss started to heat up causing Alexis to break it. “What did you go and do that for?” “Ned Ashton you just got out of surgery, and I really don’t think the doctors would like the idea of you’re blood purser going up.” Ned raised his eyebrows at her. “That’s only because they can’t make it rise like you can.” “Well I certainly hope not.” “My my Miss Davis don’t you have a dirty mind.” Alexis titled her head and looked at him for a second before her jaw hit the floor and she lightly tapped him in the arm. “OUCH.......” Ned yelled Alexis quickly jumped to her feet. “Ned I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to hurt you.” “Then prove it to me.” He yelled as he grabbed her around the waist and pulled her body on top of his. “You’re gonna pay for that.” She yelled back. “That’s the idea.” Ned stated seductively before pushing hers lips to his. Mac lightly knocked on the door before opening it. Alexis quickly jumped back and sat on the edge of Ned’s bed. “Mac what can we do for you?” Alexis asked. “I didn’t mean to disturb you.” Alexis looked at Ned who in turn just grinned at her. “That’s ok Ned needs his rest anyway and it’s clear that he isn’t going to be getting much as long as I stick around.” She said as she stood up. “Don’t leave me.” Ned pouted like a two year-old. “I’ll just be out in the hall.” Alexis replied as she gave him a kiss on the forehead and he smacked her ass. “Be nice.” She mouthed as he smiled back at her. Mac and Alexis stepped out into the hall. “He doesn’t look any worse for wear.” Mac sarcastically replied. Alexis just shot him a look. “No he doesn’t does he?” “Hey Mac Alexis.” Bobbie said as she walked up. “How’s the patient doing? Is he awake yet?” “Oh he’s awake alright.” Mac stated through laughter. “Yea he’s a little frisky so I wouldn’t get to close if I were you.” “Well don’t worry I’ll protect myself.” Bobbie joked back as she entered the room. “So Mac what did you find out?” “That Sorel either wanted you or Ned dead.” “Sorel.” “Ya I take it he’s tried of you playing the part of Sonny’s attorney.” “I think there’s more to it then that.” Alexis solemnly replied. “What aren’t you telling me Alexis?” “When Emily was missing we tracked her down and Ned ran into some of Sorel’ men and he swears he shot and killed one of them.” “What?” “Ya but the body disappeared and according to the police there wasn’t even evidence that a crime had been committed.” “I take it the body never showed up?” Mac asked. “Not as far as I know.” “Well maybe if we find the dead body will find Sorel.” “What you don’t have him in custody?” Alexis yelled. “We have to find him in order to arrest him.” “Mac what if his man come back to finish the job.” Alexis yelled as she pointed to Ned’s door. “Don’t worry Alexis I have plain clothes officers all over this place.” “Ya but just how many off those so called officers work for Sorel?” “Alexis I know you’re upset but you don’t even know if Ned is the target for all we know you might be.” “Ya Mac but I’m not lying flat down in a hospital bed completely vulnerable.” “Alexis you need to calm down nothing is going to happen.” “Damn straight it isn’t because I won’t let it.” She yelled as she stormed off down the hall. ~*~ A few minutes later Alexis came back to the room to once again find Ned sound asleep. She closed the door behind her and walked over to the chair. She was about to sit down as Ned spoke. “You aren’t really going to sit all the way over there are you?” “I thought you were sleeping.” “I was but the smell of your hair wakes me every time.” Ned pulled back the covers and motioned for her to join him. “I don’t want to hurt you.” “The only way you can hurt me is by not getting your butt into this bed next to me.” “Just my butt?” Alexis asked teasingly as she began to crawl in. “Well it’s the part I like best.” He shot back as Alexis jumped. “You are so bad.” “Let me show you just how bad.” Ned seductively said as he began chewing on her neck. Alexis carefully pushed him back. “I will lye with you but only if you promise to be good.” “You’re no fun.” “I’ll make it up to you.” “Well at least I have something to look forward to.” He teasingly stated as he pulled the covers up and pouted. Alexis couldn’t help but laugh as she laid her head clearly against his chest and closed her eyes.
