~Chapter 21~ Alexis is sound asleep in her hospital bed so Ned decides to take a walk. He's sitting on a park bench watching the children play, it's getting late and the sun is beginning to slowly fall. He thinks back to the day Alexis came to him and told him she didn't have the abortion. Ned's thoughts~~~ "Why couldn't I have just been able to be there for her to understand that having a child was something she didn't want to do. I know it was because she was afraid Helena was going to hurt her but still I should have been more understanding, loving and not so bitter. If I would have been there for her then she wouldn't be going through the pain she is now. Yes we still would have lost a child but the pain wouldn't of been nearly half as bad. Ned Ashton you've done it again you've hurt the one person in your life that you swore you'd never hurt. I love you so much Alexis and I don't ever want to lose you.............I'm sorry" Ned's thoughts were broken by the sound of a little girl yelling Daddy. Ned didn't even realize it was Brooke until she jumped up onto his lap. Brooke: Daddy daddy..... Ned: (shocked) Brooke what are you doing here? Mrs C.: We could ask you the same thing? I was under the impression we were suppose to meet you at the gatehouse at 7. Ned: Oh Marie I'm sorry I forgot. I totally lost track of time. Mr C: (noticing Ned had been crying) Ned is something wrong? Ned: (holding Brooke tight) It's Alexis she lost the baby. Mrs C: Ned I'm so sorry maybe we should wait a couple of days before you take Brooke. Ned: No I think Brooke is just what Alexis needs to brighten her day. Mrs C: Are you soon Honey? Don't you think having Brooke around will be a reminder of what you've lost? Ned: No Actually I think it will be a reminder of what we have! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alexis' Hospital room the next morning~ Ned: (picking his head in the door) Good morning sunshine! Alexis: (happy to see him) Morning. Ned: Sorry I didn't came back last night but every time I called to check on you they told me you were sound a sleep. Alexis: That's okay why don't you come in? (Ned winks at her) What are you hiding? Ned: You know you know me all to well. Alexis: That I do, now let me see what you brought me. Ned opens the door all the way and Brooke runs over to Alexis and jumps up on the bed. Brooke: (hugging Alexis) I missed you Alexis. Alexis: I missed you too.........(looking at Ned) What about the court order? Ned: We won't be needing that anymore because as of this morning (he hands her a bunch of papers) Brooke-Lynn Ashton is legally mine. Alexis: Ned this is great but how? Ned: Brooke that's how..............she wanted her daddy and grandma and grandpa just couldn't refuse. Nickolas: (walking in) Is this a private party or may I come in? Alexis: Nickolas you know your always welcome. (he lends down and kisses her) Nickolas: well who do we have here. Alexis: My soon to be step-daughter.........(sadly) that is if you still plan on getting married? Ned: What?............Of course I still plan on getting married........Alexis Davis don't you know how much I love you? Alexis: (smiling) Just checking. Nickolas: Well I'm glad to see that your feeling a lot better then the last time I saw you. Alexis: You know Ned we may have lost a baby but we still have each other and Brooke and for that I'm grateful. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Later that evening~ Ned and Alexis are lying in her hospital bed talking. Ned: it was nice of Nickolas to give Brooke a ride home. Alexis: Well I'm sure Emily is besides herself knowing that Brooke is home to stay. Ned: Best part is for the next month it gives me a free babysitter. With the word babysitter Alexis drifts off into a daze. Ned notices this and decides to change the subject. Ned: (getting up) What do you say I go across the street and get us some real food? Alexis: Uh that sounds good. Ned: Okay (he lends down and kisses her) I'll be right back don't go anywhere. Alexis: Knowing your coming back I wouldn't dream of it. Ned: Good. Ned leaves and Alexis just burst out in tears. Alexis: Oh Ned I am so sorry this is all my fault. I should have known better. I should have just gone through with the abortion. I shouldn't have even told you I was pregnant. How on earth can he still love me I allowed Helena to kill our baby. I put him through unnecessary pain I took his heart and stomped all over it. ..........(wiping away the tears and sitting up straight) Okay Alexis Davis you stop this right now........you need to be strong for Ned you can't let him see how hurt you really are you've already hurt him enough. You have to make him think that everything is alright....... Ned: (walking in) Are you talking to yourself again Alexis? Alexis: I thought you went to get some food. Ned: I did but I got all the way down stairs and realized I forgot my keys. (he kisses her) I'll be right back, anything special you'd like, your wish is my command? Alexis:(smiling) Nope. (he leaves) Just you! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Chapter 22~ ~A few weeks later~ Brooke is adjusting well with living at the Gatehouse with Ned and Alexis. Alexis reluctantly agreed to moved in with Ned after she was released from the hospital. Heck they were getting married in a few months anyway, although things between them were different, everyday they seemed to be growing further apart. It seemed like they were both trying to hard to make the other feel loved. Alexis seemed to pull away every time Ned tried to make love to her. They both wondered what it was going to take to put their relationship back on the right course, if anything actually could. Neither thought things could possible get worse and suddenly it did....... Alexis is sound asleep in her room and having what appears to be by the smile on her face a wonderful dream............... Alexis is sitting in the nursery singing and rocking her baby to sleep "Hush little baby don't say a word mommy's going to buy you a mocking bird if that mocking bird don't sing mommies going to buy you a diamond ring" "That's right you sleep now little one mommies going to always be hear to protect you" Alexis told her sleeping baby while she played with her hair. "Alexis" Ned called from downstairs. " where are you" "I'm in the nursery" Alexis shouted back causing the baby to cry. "shh it's ok mommy is here" "Wow what a gorgeous sight my darling wife and our precious little one" Ned said as he walked through the door. "where have you been" Alexis asked " At the main house Grandfather wanted to see me" Ned stated as he picked up the baby. Ned' cell phone rings " What......no fine I'll be right there........ I said I'd be right there didn't I" Ned yelled at his Grandfather who was on the other end of the phone. " I'm sorry sweetie but daddy's gotta go" Ned said as he kissed his baby goodnight and handed him back to her mother. " I'm sorry Alexis but Grandfather is in total melt down over this Jax thing I need to go" Ned bent down and gave Alexis a kiss before leaving. " You know your daddy would do anything for you because he loves you so much" Alexis says lovingly. Suddenly Alexis' face goes blank as she looks up to find Helena staring down at her. " you don't honestly think I'd let you raise that child and allow you to be happy do you" Helena said as she laughed. " You really must be losing it dear. " get out and leave us alone" Alexis yelled out as she clings to her child. Alexis looked down at her baby and saw nothing. She heard Helena laugh again and looked up Alexis sank to the floor and screamed "NO give me my back" Helena was now holding the baby. "you'll never see your child again Alexis Never' Helena repeated over and over again. "No give me my baby back" Alexis screamed even louder which echoed through the house. Ned is sitting downstairs practicing his new song heard Alexis scream and flew up the stairs to get to her. Ned: Alexis.....Alexis sweetie wake up (he shakes her) Alexis: No give me my baby I want my baby..... Ned: (grabbing her face and pulling her towards him) Wake up honey it's only a dream a really bad dream. Alexis: (sobbing uncontrollable) Ned he.........my.......our.......NO!!!!!!!!!!! Ned tried everything he could to calm her down but nothing seemed to be working. The more he reassured her that everything was okay the louder she screamed "My Baby". Suddenly Alexis heard a small child screaming in the other room which caused her back into reality Alexis: (jumping up and running out of the room) Brooke! Brooke:(crying) I want my mommy. Alexis: (running over to her and holding her tight) It's okay honey........I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you.......everything's going to be alright....I'll make sure of it.... Ned just stood there in the door way and watch Alexis hold his daughter with so much love and understanding. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A few hours later Alexis went back to her to find Ned lying in bed staring into space. Alexis: (standing at the end of their bed) I'm sorry Ned: (getting up and taking her hands) For what? Alexis: I scared Brooke. Ned: (walking over to the bed with her and sitting down pulling her on his lap) Brooke loves you and she'll be fine. Alexis: She misses her mother Ned: And I miss you. Alexis: Ned we can't go on like this...... Ned: Alexis we just need to give it time. Alexis: I've decided the best thing I can do right now for both you and Brooke is to move back into my suite at the hotel. Ned: No Alexis: Ned please (she gets up) I don't want to scare Brooke like that again. Ned: Do you honestly think leaving her is what's best for her?...........Alexis is mother is gone she needs you. Alexis: I'll still be here for her. Ned: In the middle of the night when she wakes up crying and only you will do. Alexis: You'll be there. Ned: She doesn't want me she wants you.........please Alexis don't leave.....(Ned holds out his hand to her) Come to bed......let me hold you.......let me make love to you........let me show you how much I want and need you......... Alexis: Ned! Ned: Please. Alexis slowly takes Ned hand as he pulls her close. He kisses her neck causing her to jump at first and then some what relax. Alexis: Ned I don't feel like....... (he kisses her) Ned: (looking deep into her eyes) Alexis I want to make love to you.........I need to make love to you. Alexis stares deep into Ned' eyes before placing her hands on his face and pulling him into a deep passionate kiss. Ned throws her back onto the bed falling on top of her. Their passion and need for one another becomes stronger and with much more urgency as they begin ripping each others clothes off. Alexis: Ned.... Ned: Not tonight.......... Alexis: I want you! Ned: I want you more then you know! With that Ned rolls himself on to his back pulling Alexis on top of him, as they both reach the level of finally get lost in one another. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -Chapter 23 ~L&B Entertainment~ Alexis is sitting in her office going through paperwork when there's a knock at the door. Alexis: Come in, it's open. John: Well hello there beautiful. Alexis: (shocked) What are you doing here? John: Well I wanted to see where you worked and see if you'd allow me to buy you lunch. Alexis: Lunch would be great I'd love to catch up with you, but unfortunately I'll be stuck in court most of the day. John: Well fine how about dinner. (Alexis starts to say something) Nothing fancy just to good old friends getting together to eat. Alexis: John you know I'm engaged to be married, besides you know damn well we were more then friends. John: I also know that you're expecting soon. (Alexis looks away) What kind of guy do you think I am to hit on a pregnant woman. Alexis; (coldly) John I can't have dinner with you I'm sorry....now if you'll excuse me I'm late for court. (she walks past him and out the door) John: (running after her) Wait Alexis is it something I said? Alexis: (turning on the steps) John please just leave me alone. (she continues down the stairs) Juan: Good morning Ms Davis I got the mail. Alexis: anything for me? Juan: Yea a few things (he sorts threw it handing her, her mail piece by piece. Until he stops and looks at her) um.......That's it......the rest is for Mr Ashton and Ms Morgan. Alexis: (surprised by his quick tone) What........give me the mail, (she's looking threw it) I'm to late and annoyed to be playing games. Juan: Um....Ms Davis really that's all there is. (she looks up at him annoyed and then back to the mail) John; Alexis you really need to calm down. Alexis: Nobody asked you (her face went blank and she stared at the two of them for a brief moment) Juan make sure Ned gets his mail and tell him I'll call him later. (she hands him the mail and leaves) John: I've never seen her so rattled and so easily spooked like that. Juan: Neither have I.......I hope she's ok...maybe I should call Mr Ashton, excuse me. Alexis is standing against the outside of the building crying uncontrollable. Juan: (coming into the room) Thank God your here I've been trying to get a hold of you all morning. Ned: Juan calm down I'm here now.......so what's the problem did the lights go out.......or did they shut the water off because we didn't pay the bill....or did they..... Juan: (cutting Ned off) No it's Ms Davis. Ned: (panicking) What ........what about her....is she okay.......did Helena show up because if that witch did anything to her I'll kill her. Juan: No it was the mail. Ned: (confused) The mail? Juan: Yea I tried not to give it to her but...but she just grabbed it and......and Ned: Juan just spit it out. Juan: Some baby stuff. Ned: (still confused) baby stuff? Juan: yea.......you now like letters from companies saying congratulations, I hear your expecting.... Ned: (yelling) What...and you gave it to her.....how stupid can you be.........for god sakes Juan even I didn't think you were that irresponsible. Juan: I'm sorry Mr Ashton but she just took the mail out of my hand and.... Ned: and what.......your little brain couldn't think of something to do to distract her? Juan; I'm really sorry.....I had no idea that she would react like that Ned; (somewhat losing it) Well how did you expect her to react Juan she just lost a baby for heavens sake Juan: (scared by Ned' reaction) Really Mr Ashton I.... I.........I'm sorry. Ned: (completely losing it) alright alright....where is she now? Juan: I don't know some client of hers said she went to court. Ned:(getting louder) What client...Sonny? Juan: No, I think he said his name was...........John. Ned: What john was here.........(trying to calm down) oh never mind I need to find Alexis and make sure she's alright. Lock up and go home we'll talk about this tomorrow. She's wearing nothing but Ned' shirt and her hair is still wet and uncombed from the shower she just took. The tears are running down her face as she sits in total silence. Ned comes quietly through the front door throwing his keys on the table. Alexis is so spaced out she doesn't even see him. He walks over to her and sits down, wrapping his arms tightly around her. She doesn't move, she doesn't smile, she doesn't even acknowledge his presence Ned: Sweetheart where have you been? I've been looking all over for you........Juan told me what happened and I'm sorry. (he looked down at her and became worried) Alexis Alexis........Alexis can you hear me? Alexis just sat there with an empty look on her face, she wasn't responding to him at all. Ned: (picking her up) Come on honey I'm taking you upstairs and putting you into bed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~Ned and Alexis' Bedroom~ Alexis is lying in bed staring at the ceiling or at least appears to be. Ned is on the phone with Monica. Ned: I don't know she doesn't move, she doesn't respond. Monica I'm scared I've never seen her like this before. Monica: Alright Ned come down. Just stay with her and I'll be there as soon as possible. Ned; Thanks Monica I really appreciate it. Ned hangs up the phone and lays on the bed next to Alexis. Ned: (tears in his eyes) Damn it Alexis I'm so sorry this is all my fault. I knew it was to early for you to go back to work, and like an idiot I still let you go. (he lightly strokes the side of her face) Problem is those beautiful eyes of your...........every time you give me that look I just can't say no. Ned: (panicking) Monica how is she? What's wrong with her? Why won't she answer me? Monica: (grabbing Ned' arm) Come on lets go sit down. Ned: (sitting) It's bad isn't it. Monica: Ned, Alexis seems to be in a state of shock Ned:(confused) Shock? Monica: Well it's like fainting with your eyes open. In other words her body shut down and it's hard to say when she'll wake up. Ned: You mean she could stay like this? Monica: Yes she could (Ned gets up and paces again) but that doesn't mean she will.......Ned she could wake up any minute now and act like nothings happened. (getting up and walking over to him) Ned I'd like to take her back to the hospital and run some test. I can't really tell you the extent of the state she's in without them. Ned: She's not in danger right now is she? Monica: She doesn't appear to be. Ned: Fine then I'll bring her in tomorrow morning. Monica: (worried) Ned... Ned: I'll be fine Monica trust me we'll be okay. Monica: Okay good night then and call me if you need anything. Ned: I will....(he kisses her) Goodnight. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ned and Alexis' bedroom~ It's about 2 am and Ned rolls her to find Alexis gone. Ned: Alexis..........Alexis where are you? Ned gets up and puts on his robe. He searches the house from top to bottom looking for her and calling out her name. She's no where it sight, so he goes back up stairs to check on Brooke. Brooke is sleeping soundly. Ned walks over to her and pulls her blankets up and kisses her. He starts to leave her room and hears someone humming. He walks down the hall to what was support to be the baby' room. He peaks his head in the door and is shocked to see Alexis. She' sitting on the floor with her knees up to her chest humming. Ned walks over to her and places his arms around her shoulders. Alexis turns and smiles at him. Alexis: Hey there I didn't hear you come in. Ned: (shocked) Alexis? Alexis: (mocking him) Ned.....yes it's me who were you expecting. Ned: What are you doing in here? Alexis: I was just thinking how the room is going to look after we finish decorating it. (she places her hands on her stomach) Of course we'll have to wait until after the baby is born to do most of it. (she gets up) I think the crib should go here, by the way I wonder what happened to the crib we ordered should it have been here by now? Ned: (getting up and walking over to her) sweetie it's late why don't we go back to bed and we can talk about this in the morning. Alexis: (ignoring him) Do you think we should put....... Ned: Alexis let's go to bed! Alexis: (happily) Okay as long as you promise to sing me to sleep. Ned: I can do that. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Chapter 24~ Later that night~ Ned and Alexis are lying in their bed sound asleep. Suddenly Alexis sits up and begins to scream. Alexis: My baby I want my baby. Ned: (grabbing her and trying to calm her down) Alexis it's okay I'm here. Alexis: (crying) Where's our baby Ned? Ned: (crying) It's okay everything is going to be okay. Alexis: I can't let Helena hurt my baby. Ned: (realizing Alexis is still half asleep) Alexis sweetie come on you need to wake up. Alexis: (placing her hand on her stomach) My baby Ned where's my baby? Ned: (holding her tight) Alexis the baby died Alexis:(yelling and beginning to lose it) NO! My baby isn't dead Helena has him......I want my baby........let go of me (she pulls out of his arms) this is all your fault I told you I couldn't do this but you wouldn't listen. Ned: (grabbing her and shaking her) Alexis wake up! Brooke screamed from the other room, which finally causes Alexis to wake up. Alexis starts to get up but Ned won't let her go. Ned: Alexis I'll take care of Brooke go back to bed. I'll be right back I promise. Alexis: (scared) Ned I had a terrible nightmare. Ned: I know (he kisses her on the forehead) we're going to get through this. Alexis: Ned I'm so sorry ..... Ned: There's nothing to be sorry about, lay down and try to rest I need to check on Brooke. Alexis: No let me get her please. Ned: How about if I bring her back to bed with me okay. Alexis: That would be nice, I didn't mean to scare her.. Ned: I know you didn't, and so does she. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ten mintues later Ned walks back into their room with Brooke in his arms. Alexis: Come here baby it's okay (Ned hands Brooke to Alexis) I'm so sorry I didn't mean to wake you. Brooke: Did something bad happen to your baby? Alexis does know what to say and Ned isn't much help either. They just stare at each other. Brooke: Where's the baby? Alexis: The baby's in heaven sweetie. Ned: (playing with Brooke's hair) you're just going to have to wait a little while longer then we hoped for a little baby brother. Brooke: (wide eyes) Can I have a little baby sister too! Alexis; (laughing) We'll see about that. Ned: (happy to see Alexis laugh) Trust me if I have any say in it will have a house full of baby brothers and sisters for you. Alexis: Oh you think so. Ned: I know so. Brooke: (excited) Cool. Alexis: You'r as bad as your daddy, you know that? Ned: (crawling under the sheets) Come on ladies it's the middle of the night and I suggest we all get some sleep. Alexis gets under the covers along with Brooke. Ned: (mouthing to Alexis) I love you! Brooke:I love you too daddy (Ned and Alexis laugh) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~Chapter 25 ~The PC Grill~ Alexis is sitting at the bar having a drink. She's waiting to meet Ned for lunch, when Sonny walks over to her. Sonny: and how's my lovely pregnant lady lawyer doing today? Alexis: (sarcastically) You know Sonny you've been out of town way to long. I lost the baby about a month ago. Sonny: (sitting next to her) I'm sorry, I had no idea. Alexis: (she just shakes her head in disgust) What are you doing back anyway? I was under the impression you left town for good. Sonny: Well you know how it is things happen and suddenly your priorities are different. Alexis: (to the bartender) I'll have another one please (looking at Sonny) and one for my friend here as well. Sonny: Thanks.........so...... Alexis: So how'd it happen? (she pause for a moment and throws back her drink) Helena that's how it happen. She told me I'd never be happy and lord knows she'll do everything in her power to make that happen. Sonny: What do you plan on doing about it, because if you need any help I'll be glad to...... Alexis:(cutting him off) to what Sonny? Have her premently removed? (she orders another drink) Thanks but no thanks. (half laughing) Besides she's not human she'd probably just come back meaner then ever. (she looks at her watch and speaks to the bartender) Larry can you please tell Mr Ashton when he gets here that I'll be up in my room. Larry: certainly Ms Davis. Alexis: Thanks (turning to Sonny) Do both you and me a favor and stay out of trouble. Sonny: Oh consular you know what fun would that be.(she just shakes her head) Sonny laughs as he watches Alexis leave the grill. He picks up his cell phone and makes a call. Sonny: Yea I want a man on Helena Cassidine 24 hours. (he hangs up) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ned walks into the Grill with Brooke and see's Sonny. Ned: Well Mr Corinthos I could have sworn my fiancée said that you left town for good. Sonny: I did but now I'm back. (notices Brooke) Don't tell me that this little girl here is Brooke? You've gotten so big since the last time I saw you. (Brooke hides behind Ned) Ned: That she has I think the more I look at her the faster she grows. Sonny: So Lois finally caved in a little and allowed you to see your daughter? Ned: (shocked) You haven't heard? Sonny: Heard what? Ned: Larry have you seen Alexis. Larry: yes sir she told me to tell you she's gone up to her room. Ned: (looking around) I don't know why she insist on keeping a room here anyway. (spotting Chloe) Chloe can you come here a minute. Chloe: Sonny, Ned what's up? Ned: Can you take Brooke up to Alexis' room and tell her I'll be up soon. Chloe: Sure no problem. Come on Brooke let's go find Alexis. (they leave) Sonny: So Ashton what's going on? Ned: Sonny I know you and Lois were good friends (he pauses a moment) she was in a car accident and she didn't make it. Sonny: Oh god first the baby and now this, Ned I'm so sorry. Ned: Alexis told you about the baby? Sonny; Yea just a little while ago. Ned: (yelling) You didn't say anything to upset her did you? Sonny: Ned I know what it's like to lose a baby. Ned: I know I'm sorry it's just Alexis still hasn't adjusted to it well. Sonny: It's not something you get over right away. When Lily and our baby died a part of me died with them .........and I still don't know if I'm adjusted to it. (looking at Ned) How are you doing? Ned: Some days are better then others........I thank god for Brooke every day and think if it wasn't for her Alexis wouldn't be able to get through this. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alexis' hotel suite~ Brooke is in Alexis' room watching cartoons, while Chloe and Alexis are talking in the front room. Chloe: You look tired. Alexis: It's been a long week. Chloe: Is there any thing I can do for you? Alexis: (smiling) Yea you can help me design the perfect wedding dress. (her face goes blank) Chloe;Alexis what's wrong? Alexis: (practically in tears) It's amazing how one day your life's great, you've got everything you always wanted and then suddenly it's all turned upside down. (yelling) No warning no rhyme no reason..........just evil lurking it's ugly head. Chloe: (walking over to Alexis and putting her hand on her shoulder) Alexis I'm sorry I know how hard this is for you...... Alexis: (pushing Chloe' arm off her and yelling) You know nothing, why is it every one thinks they know how I feel? You have no idea what it's like to lose a baby ................to have something growing inside of you one day and then have it gone the next............to feel so reasonable for the death of your child. To know what the hell the man who loves you must really think of you. Chloe: (crying) I'm sorry.......I just meant.. Alexis: (yelling louder) Why are you crying.......... why are you even here? Am I suppose to feel sorry for you because I made you cry? Well I don't! You know Chloe everything isn't picture perfect you can't just fix things with a smile and a hundred dollar bill. You can't make my pain go away and seeing your smiling face it's helping at all. If you want someone to fell sorry for you I suggest you go find Jax. Go cry on his shoulder and let him..... Ned: (walking in) Hey what's going on in here I can hear you all the way down the hall? (he grabs Alexis and holds her) Alexis are you okay? Alexis: (crying) No I can't do this I can't pretend everything is okay when it's not. (she pulls him tighter) Chloe: (still crying) I'm sorry Ned I didn't mean to upset her. Ned: I know you didn't Chloe, but I think it would be better if you just left. I'll call you later. Chloe leaves and Alexis walks over to the couch. Alexis: Oh god what have I done. Chloe was only trying to be nice to me and I made the poor thing cry. Ned: (sitting down next to her) Don't worry about her Alexis she'll be fine. (he holds her close to him) It's you I'm worried about. What happened? Alexis: (looking in his eyes) I don't know one minute I asked her to help me make my wedding gown and the next thing you know I'm yelling at her. Ned: Did she say something to upset you? Alexis:(placing her head into his chest) No. Like I said we were talking about my wedding gown and...... Ned: and? Alexis: and I started thinking about the last time we were talking about a gown. Ned: the baby's christening gown.(he kisses the top of her head) Alexis: yea and I just lost it Ned: (picking up her face and looking deep into her eyes) Like I told you before Alexis we are going to get through this, stronger then ever. Alexis: Is it always going to be like this Ned? Is the slightest little thing always going to make me cry and lash out at the people I care about? Ned: I don't know Sweetheart.........I just don't know. Ned pulls Alexis close to him and they just sit there in silence as they finally cry together over the lose of their unborn child.
