CHAPTER 3 ~ TELLING THE Q’S ~ Ned and Alexis arrived home later that night and against her better judgment agreed to go along with Ned’s plan. The first part of his plan she thought had to be the worst, telling his family first thing tomorrow morning! ~Alexis’ Penthouse ~ “God you look beautiful.” Ned stated as he lays in bed looking up at her. She is standing there in her robe towel drying her hair when she looks back at him. “I didn’t know you were awake.” Ned stretched his arms over his head to wake himself. “I wasn’t until the smell of you’re hair woke me as you passed.” Alexis laughed slightly as she walked over and sat on the edge of the bed. “So what do you say to a nice quiet breakfast at home?” Ned gave her a nice try look. “You know how much I love you’re french toast.” Ned sat up just enough to grab her around the waist. He flung her over himself and onto her back. “Once we are married I will make you french toast every morning if that’s what you desire.” She was about to say something so he quickly pulled his one hand out from under her placing it over her mouth. “But this morning we are going to have a traditional Quatermaine breakfast.” He took his hand off her mouth and exchanged it with his lips. ~ Quatermaine Mansion ~ “Good morning everyone” Ned stated very cheerfully as he walked into the living room with Alexis on his arm. “I’m glad to see you’re all here.” “That makes one of us” Alexis stated under her breath but loud enough for Ned to hear. Ned looked over at her and was about to say something when AJ opened his mouth and spoke. “And we’re suppose to what Ned?” AJ asked as he poured himself a drink. “Be grateful.” “Junior shut-up and make that a double why don’t ya.” Ned stated agitated with AJ’ mere presents. “Lila Good Morning.” Alexis said as she walked away from Ned and bent down giving the old lady a kiss on the cheek. Edward walked into the center of the room. “Ned what are you doing here?” Ned threw his hands up into the air. “What I can’t come by and see my loving family every once in a while?” “Not without an agenda!” Edward bellowed. “Well now that you mentioned it.” Ned said as he pulled Alexis back up to her feet and to his side. “I do have an announcement to make.” “Please don’t you dare tell me you got that woman pregnant!” Edward Yelled. “Edward!” Monica yelled “Grandfather please” Emily yelled as well. “I am not pregnant” Alexis yelled in her defense “Not that that should even be an issue.” Ned added. “If Alexis and I ever decide to have children you won’t have a say in it old man!” “Nobody is bringing a half-breed Cassidine child into this family I won’t allow it!” Edward yelled even louder as he picked up the paper. Ned was so mad at this point as was about to yell something back at Edward when Lila stopped him. “Ned my darling boy why don’t share you’re good news with us.” “Maybe now really isn’t the best time.” Alexis said as she pleadingly looked at Ned. “Like there’s every gonna be a good time.” Ned shot back. “I’m sorry sweetheart you were right we should have never come here.” He pulled her closer and kissed her forehead gently. “So I see the mob mouthpiece pin-up girl and her rock and roll lover made the front page again.” Edward said as he held up the newspaper “You guys got married!” Emily screeched in excitement, as she looked at the picture of Ned and Alexis in their wedding attire. “Congratulations Ned!” Monica added “I feel sorry for you Alexis.” AJ said as walked up behind her placing her hand on her shoulder. “Life as you know it will never be the same.” Ned pushed AJ’ hand from her shoulder. “Alexis and I are not married.” “But the paper says you are.” Emily states. “That’s the best news I’ve heard since you stepped foot into my house.” Edward yelled as he threw the paper down and walked over to the phone. “It’s my house.” Monica yelled. “It’s only you’re house because I gave it to ya.” Alan noted. “But we are!” Ned yelled over top of everyone. Edward put down the phone, Emily and Lila both smiled brightly, AJ shook his head before slugging back another drink, Monica and Alan had no expression what so ever, and poor Alexis looked like she was going to be sick. “Well when’s the big day?” Monica asked breaking the silence that overtook the room. “We haven’t actually set a date.” Ned replied “And there won’t be a date set either.” Edward yelled as he walked over to Ned grabbed his arm and pulled him to the other side of the room. “Have you lost you’re mind young man? Have you forgotten just who that so-called woman is?” “She the woman I not only love but plan on marrying.” Ned stated as he pulled his arm out of Edward’s tight grip. “She is a Cassidine! She works for the likes of Sonny Corinthos!” “Along with you’re grandson Jason!” “Jason Morgan is no Grandson of mine!” “He may not be you’re grandchild but he is my son so watch it.” Monica stated firmly as she walked over to Alexis. “Congratulations, I feel sorry for you but congratulations.” And with that she left the room. “Well folks it’s been real but I think I’ll follow mom’s advice and leave.” AJ replied before leaving the room as well. “I for one am so glad you two are finally getting married.” Emily said as she ran up to Alexis shocking her and giving her a hug. “Welcome to the family.” Alan added. Edward turned to look at Alan. “That woman is not going to be a part of this family!” “Grandfather please!” Ned yelled back at him. “Ned Alexis congratulations to you both, I’m so happy for you.” Lila stated. “I knew you would be grandmother.” Ned said as he walked over and gave her a kiss. “Alan don’t you have to get to the hospital?” Lila asked. “Yes mother I do.” He replied. “Dad can you drop me off at Kelly’s I’m meeting Nikolas and Lucky there for breakfast.” Emily stated and then turned to look at Alexis. “But don’t worry Alexis I won’t tell Nikolas a thing.” “Thank you Emily.” Alexis replied as Ned walked up behind her and placed his hands around her waist. Alan and Emily left the room and Lila looked up at Edward. “I’m a little tired Edward I’d like you to take me back to my room.” “Reginald!” Edward yelled. “Not Reginald you!” Lila yelled. Edward walked over to her wheelchair in defeat and began pushing her out. “I don’t understand why we have to leave our own living room just so those two can be alone.” “Put a sock in it!” Lila stated to Edward out in the hall causing both Ned and Alexis to laugh and somewhat relax. “Well that went well!” Alexis stated as she rested her head back into the cup of Ned’s shoulder. “Trust me it could have been a lot worse.” “I know” She looks up at him. “We could have been telling my family.” |
