Noel Mapeso is a self-taught musician who started playing guitar at an age of 15 (back in Philippines) and started playing drums seriously 10 years ago. I have been influenced mostly by Kenny Aronoff style of solid rock and roll backbeats. Immigrated to Canada in the year 1990 and then on learn to play drums from instructional videos, drum tablatures and listening to music from different genre from pop, rock, jazz, fusion, disco, samba and cha-cha. I try my best to practiced/rehearse everyday as time is very precious, so little when you have to go to work and deal with our everyday life. The only way to get better on any instrument you play is be patient and practice till its perfect. Playing drums/music is just a part-time profession but it gives me satisfaction and appreciate life more. My first drumset was a entry level 1992 5pcs. color black TAMA Rockstar drums, 22 inch bass drum. Sound good when heads are tune properly and built very solid. Currently Im using YAMAHA Stage custom drums. JAZZ kit drums, 20 bass drums, 10,1214 inch toms and 5x 14 wood snare drums. Its going be my main kit for a very long time until I able to save enough money to buy drums of my dreams TAMA Star Classic Maple. |
