August 8Today marks 7 months of LIFE for Zekie--the man. Hard to believe he hasn't always been with us, but has been since February 8. It feels like he's been loved by us forever.
Zekie went to the garage sale yesterday to enjoy everyone's loving there and enjoyed his sleep time when he got home! Today his dad cooked up some beef heart and chicken gizzards to mix in with his dinner and he layed on the living room floor with me on a nice 4" thick cushion watching a movie.
Zekie will always be loved by us and all of you I'm sure. Cancer may be there but we find each day a GIFT, a true gift with this sweetheart of a boy ...
We love you Zekie, you are truly special! Mom and Dad, Jessie, Sadie and Gilbert
At some point in his life he was taught not to get on furniture so rarely does he have the effort to get full body cuddles other than hugs (which he gets regularly!)
This has been working well. Even though he hadn't quite got the hang of how cuddles work and always felt a bit uncomfortable just going with it, last night I had to smile and felt a great joy in my heart.
We layed on the nice comfy bed on the floor and he came up and layed down, as I was petting him I took special care in rubbing ears and gently stroking his face and neck. All of a sudden, I felt him relax and lean into my body and go limp with pleasure, with his eyes almost closed, loving each touch. This was a first, now I think Zekie has learned that cuddling is a pure pleasure.
Only took 7 months to get him this comfortable! I LOVE IT! My cancer boy finally getting comfortable enough for a full body cuddle...
September 29... Well fall here in Arizona isn't like fall other places but a few leaves have fallen and I've gotten lucky enough to capture a beautiful "FALL" photograph of Zekie.
I took Zekie to Petco yesterday and he chose his new woobie, just in time for Halloween, which he has right by his feet. Yes folks, he does drop them on occasion and I'm glad he did. This smiling picture is beyond words.
He is slowing down a little with a slight limp for the past few days, but that isn't stopping him from smiling, following me around, or wagging his tail. I hope and pray that we get to go choose a Christmas woobie together.
A smile from Zekie to you all for sticking with him through his journey of love.
I always hold Zekie near and dear to my heart in prayer and I am so, so very hopeful that he will choose a very special woobie for Christmas :O) He will, he has to, orders from me :O)
Please give him a big hug filled with the warmest of prayers sprinkled with thoughts of white healing light.

My favorite Halloween woobie, I got it in September so I have a month to make it mine mine, alllllll mine!

Pure pleasure, that's what woobies are.

My mom takes me to many Rescue events, here I am at the yard sale, where I got to enjoy meeting many new people and tell them why rescuing doggies like me is so very important! I think my smile won over many hearts.

Another woobie! I just love to mush my face up in a woobie.

You think you can visit the bathroom alone? Think again! What are you doing by the way...

Aren't I the most handsome guy in the world? That is what my mom says, blush...

My auntie brought this beautiful sweet big fluffy woobie for my celebration! Gosh I do like this one too!
