Summary: Marcy Needs Protection and Moves In, Jen Tells Rex Where to Go

Marcy’s Place…

Al: Why not stay at my place a few days until this blows over? I can’t have you staying here knowing someone ransacked your place for protesting for peace. They could come back, and you could be here and…

Marcy: And I give them what they want? Besides, that would be awkward.

Al: You can have my room. I’ll stay on the couch.

Marcy: I’d cramp Will’s style.

Al: He’d be honored to help you out. He thinks the world of you. He even teases me about stealing you from me.

Marcy: Good grief. He’s such a joker.

Al: No! He really likes you. And he believes in what we’re doing.

Marcy: The voice is even taking a stand on the radio!

Al: I should introduce you to the voice sometime soon. He’d probably like you as much as Will and I do. You know Will thinks that you are one of the most interesting people he’s ever met. But you’re my girl.

Marcy: How does he figure I’m that great. I’m just one voice among many.

Al: Yeah, but a lot of girls just want to put on makeup and you? You read books, and speak out against wrong. So many girls we know don’t really have anything of value to say. You get people thinking.

Marcy: And that’s sexy? Uh huh. Like a hot bod in a bikini wouldn’t tempt a man right out of his mind!

Al puts his arms around Marcy.

Al: When are you going to get it?

Marcy smiles.

Marcy: You make me feel like someone special.

Al: You are special, whether I think so or not.

Marcy: I’m such a dork. What’s wrong with me? I shouldn’t need someone else to feel good about myself.

Al: I don’t mind telling you though. I have a surprise for you. It’s long overdue.

Marcy: I love surprises! What is it?

Al grins.

Al: Come with me and find out.

Marcy: Where are we going?

Al: To meet the voice.

Marcy: Really? You know, I went looking for him the other day. I never seem to be there at the right time.

Al: You thinking about cheating on me already?

Marcy’s eyes bug open wide.

Marcy: Oh Al! No! I don’t… I’d never! I just worried that he is okay and he seems okay now. I talked to some of the people he works with though.

Al grins.

Al: And what did they say?

Marcy: Janine was really nice. The voice is going out with her.

Al: She said THAT?

Marcy: I was eavesdropping.

Al: Maybe you misunderstood.

Marcy: Doesn’t matter. I’m with you. Besides, although Janine seems nice, I don’t think a guy who’d be interested in someone as sophisticated as her would be someone I’d be interested in.

Al: You know, maybe we should do something else tonight since you aren’t into the voice anymore.

Marcy: I love doing anything with you.

Al puts his arms around Marcy, and looks her in the eyes.

Al: And.. I… love you.

Marcy’s eyes well up. Al searches them and their eyes fixate on each other.

Marcy: You know I… Al… I feel… I feel the same way!

Al: Let me hear the words! I want to hear you SAY it!

Marcy: I love you Al!

Al slides up to Marcy’s lips, and kisses her passionately.

Meanwhile, at the Jen’s mom’s place…

Jen: What do you want Rex?

Rex: I forgive you.

Jen: I wasn’t asking.

Rex backs Jen up against the wall.

Rex: C’mon Jen. You can tell me all day that you were just using me, but I know the truth. It just scares you.

Jen pushes Rex back and looks at him maliciously.

Jen: In your DREAMS!

Rex: You can deny it all you want. You felt it. We’re the same.

Jen: Take your fantasies and go home. You don’t have a clue who I am.

All you want is some fucked up fantasy of who you want me to be. Rex: You’re bad, bad like me.

Jen: F--- off!

Rex grabs Jen and kisses her passionately. Jen starts to respond, but pulls back and slaps him.

Rex: You liked it.

Jen: Get out!

Jen pushes Rex.

Jen: I said to get out!

Rex: You’ll be calling me.

Jen opens the door and directs him to be on his way, and Rex leaves.

She shuts the door and screams, slamming her fist into the door.

Jen: I'm not a f---ing bad girl!
