NortheastIron enjoyed some fall foliage at Watkins Glen october 21st 2007.  Several diehard racers
showed up for the 1 hour enduro on the Watkins Glen 3.4 mile sports car circuit.
While all the NEI drivers ran the sprint race earlier in the day for seat time, the 1 hour enduro was
the main event for points.  Bill Headley took the pole in qualifying with a 2:16.097 lap.  Rob Avati took
second with a 2:16.351 followed by Team Mohr's 2:16.464 and Al Watson's 2:18.419 lap.  At the green
everyone was nose to tail for the opening laps with Headley out front.  Watson came in early to get the
manditory pitstop out of the way.  Rob Avati then suffered transmission troubles forcing him to
retire from the race.  Headley and Mohr pushed on staying with each other for several laps unitl late in the race when they came in seperately to serve the required pitstop.  After all the require pit lane
activities Team Mohr found themselves out front in the lead with Headley close behind.  Come the
checkered flag Team Mohr won thier first event of the season, leaving Headley in second followed by
Watson third and Avati fourth.

Coming up next is Summit Point sprints November 17th & 18th.
