About Back to the Best Country Store

Our country store is open Wednesday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and is closed on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. Fresh organic produce is delivered every Friday and Saturday.

Welcome to Back to the Best Country Store, located on our family's organic dairy farm in Rubicon, Wisconsin.  We are Dan and Paula Siegmann, and we, with our eight children - Nathan and his new wife Ashley, Samantha, Noah, Dana, Olivia, Amanda, Lincoln, and Jed - want to help you find the best foods for you and your family. We bought this farm in 1994 and became certified organic in 2001.  We farm about 600 acres and have about 110 cows along with young heifers, calves, pigs, chickens (meat and egg layers). horses, dogs, cats, goats, guinea hens, and peacocks. We began providing organic foods in a country store setting in 2002 and have since continued to provide access to real foods.  We are committed to doing our part in the de-programming and re-education of the families in Southeastern Wisconsin concerning real nutrition and a nourishing, traditional diet.

We order with United Natural Foods every week.  This is a wholesale organic grocery warehouse with tons of organic foods listed in their catalog.  You can order at Buying Club prices through our store.  Simply place your order with us any Tuesday by 5 pm and pick it up on the Wednesday of the following week.  We charge 5% to provide this service for you.  You pay for your order when you pick it up.  Ask for your catalogs, order forms, and ordering instructions if you are interested.
