My current computer is a Pentium III 500 with a Creative Labs 3D Blaster TNT2 Ultra and 256 megabytes of RAM running Windows 2k (still not sure if I like it).  I also have a cheap webcam that is okay for low resolution stuff and a Zip 250 USB drive that's pretty sweet.  I now have a cable modem as well and it rocks.  250 kilobytes per second!

I'm a computer gamer who plays many different games.  I like to play racing games (like
Midtown Madness 1 and 2, Motocross Madness 2, and Need for Speed) and I like to play strategy games (Age of Empires II and The Sims), but I usually cheat in strategy games so I get all the cool stuff without having to do much work.

Overall though, I play mostly first person shooters like
Quake III: Arena and Unreal Tournament (it's better than Quake III) and their various mods and user-made maps.
Right now I play a lot of
Day of Defeat, Global Warfare, Action Half-Life, and many multiplayer demos.  I hate Counter-Strike but I'm usually forced to play it at every LAN party I go to (if you know me and ever want to go to one of these, let me know!).
I also own
Operation Flashpoint, a really cool game that allows you to fly and drive all different types of vehicles but the multiplayer doesn't support server sockets in non-beta form yet.
I would play more
Tribes 2 but it runs really slowly on my computer (that will be fixed this July!).
I'm pretty good at all of these even without cheating.

But if I had to recommend one mod, I would have to recommend
Day of Defeat for Half-Life, it is the best thing ever.  Yes, better than that.  You play as either the Allies or the Axis during World War II.  Fight for all that you know and love!  Or fight for evil.  Your choice.  And you better practice your German accent or I will disown you.  Now you can go back Home.

General Gaming Sites

GameSpy.com:  This is my favorite gaming site.  Make sure to read the Daily Victim, it's insanely funny.  It also hosts all of the great Planet sites for various games, which are the coolest things ever.
PCGamer:  This is one of the gaming magazines that I subscribe to.  You can find their review database on their site.  It is a very good magazine and a pretty well layed out site.

Computer Gaming World:  I also subscribe to this magazine and enjoy it greatly.  A very good magazine and a good website too.

Half-Life Links

PlanetHalfLife:  The site for everything ever done or thought about for Half-Life (including mods like Day of Defeat and Counter-Strike).

Unreal Tournament Links

PlanetUnreal
:  The best Unreal Tournament site I know of, the one stop shop for all things Unreal.

Quake III: Arena Links

PlanetQuake
:  Another GameSpy planet site that, while not as good as PlanetUnreal, still gives all the info needed about Quake.  Very cool.

Tribes 2 Links

PlanetTribes:  The only Tribes 2 info site you will ever want or need though it doesn't update nearly often enough.
