The officers discussed The Blood Drive for an NSU student who is in need of
blood. The Blood Drive will be on January 25, 2001 from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
Vanessa is making fliers and sending emails about it.
The next item discussed was the time of our Banquet. The date of our Banquet will be February 7, 2001 at 4:00pm.. The attire is formal--Blue Blazer and Khaki skirt or Pants.
The Mardi Gras Banquet time is to be announced.
Letters for potential members into Blue Key was discussed. Tentative application
due date is March 6, 2001. The interviews' tentative dates are March 12-16.
March of Dimes will be held April 7, 2001 and is on a Saturday.
January 25th (Blue Key Members meeting):
Rusty thanked those who gave blood today
Initiation for the members accepted into Blue Key last spring will be held on February 7th at 4:00p.m. Dr. McBride will be the installing officer and the new members will recieve their patches and certificates. The meeting will last about
forty minutes and there will be refreshments afterwards.
The Mardi Gras Ball will not be worked by Blue Key this year. From now on, this event will alternate each year between Blue Key and Freshman Connection.
The induction process for the next group of Blue Key members will begin the week after Mardi Gras break. Prospective members will be sent letters during the week of Mardi Gras, and then the interviews and selection process will be conducted as it was last year (five hours of community service, current
members will vote for the acceptance of future members...)
Wayne announced that the treasury has about five hundred and sixty dollars, but we still have to pay for the patches.
Vanessa announced that she set up new links on the website and everyone should look at the new pictures.
March 8, 2001 (Officers Meeting):
We discussed that all applicants would have their community service forms turned in on March 28, 2001.
Also, there was talk about the Blue Key Convention running from June 29-July 21, 2001 in Kansas City.
Our next organizational meeting is March 29, 2001 at 8:00pm.
April 26, 2000 (Members Meeting):
The induction ceremony was held for the new members of Blue Key. After induction, members remained for refreshments.
Since Wayne Bush, the current treasurer, graduated in the spring, nominations for treasurer were taken.
Frank Toro was elected to take over Wayne Bush's responsiblities for the summer.
The March of Dimes relay for life was a success.
Rusty requested help for the graduation ceremony for both the 10:00am and 3:00pm NSU graduation ceremony.
