"Claire, get your ass over here right now and tell me where the fuck you were last night, I tried to get a hold of you all night," Claire got off the couch and walked over to her so called boy friend who was in the other room. "I was at my parents house I told you 2 days ago that's where I was going to be" She said staying calm "Bull shit, you were probably out with some other guy," "Shane! I WAS NOT! i told you I was at my parents house cuz my cousin Tammy was in town and i haven't seen her in 2 years!" She said not a clam. "Don't give me that! you don't even have a cousin named Tammy" "Yes I Do" She shouted back "Don't talk to me like that" Shane yelled then slapped his girlfriend across the face. "What the fuck was that for?" Claire screamed. If you knew Claire you would be able to tell that she was extremely mad because she only swears when she's really ticked off. "You know damn well, why i hit you, for giving me that lip of yours" "Your not my father! I can give u 'lip' if i want, not like you don't ever give it to me" Shane slapped her again, this time leaving a mark. Claire started crying. She wasn't sure what to say. She ran to the front door, her final words before she ran out the door were "Fuck you, Shane, don't ever talk to me again." Claire wasn't sure what to do. She was only 18 but lived with Shane and his family because her father got a new job and her parents had to move an hour and a 1/2 away and she wanted to finish out her senior year of high school with all her friends. She didn't know what to do. She couldn't tell any of her friends that he had hit her. He hit her all the time and she never told anyone. If word got out that 'Shane Myers, Caption of the football team hottest guy in school, hit his girlfriend' people probably wouldn't believe it anyway, and if they did it would totally ruin his reputation and he would just beat her more for telling people. He rarely left marks on her but when he did i would be on her arm or leg, it was easy for her to cover up. He had never hit her in the face until today, he had always told her that her face was so beautiful and that he would never do anything to hurt it, obviously he didn't keep his promise. She couldn't go to her parents, they would make her move in with them, there was only 2 months left of the school year and she didn't want to leave her friends. She decided she'd deal with everything for 2 months then go off to collage far away from him. Claire pulled over to the side of the road so she could examen where Shane had hit her. "Great," Claire said with a sound of disappointment in her voice. Her left cheek was bright red and it looked like it was going to bruise. "How am I going to explain this one, i already 'fell down the stairs' yesterday.' At least that's what i told Dana when she saw the bruise on my leg." She thought to herself. "Well, its only Saturday, maybe it wont be so bad by Monday" Claire decided she wasn't going to go back there, for the rest of the weekend, she didn't know what to do, she'd just have to face the consciences on Monday. Plus she figured if the only time she saw Shane was at school she would be safe because he didn't want any one to know about him hitting her. She didn't know where to go. Luckily she had her 'in case of emergency' credit card that her parents had given her. She had never used it before, and figured now was a good time to. She drove around looking for a hotel to stay at. She decided to stay at the Hilton, it was fairly expensive but she figured Shane wouldn't go looking for her there since it was about 30 minutes away from his house. The only room they had available was a suite but she took it anyway, it was already 6:00 and she still wanted to go shopping to get some clothes to wear, so she didn't feel like finding a new place to stay. "What happened to your face, are you OK?" The lady at the desk asked her "Nothing, I just ran into a door, that's all and IM fine," Claire said, she had gotten good at the lying thing, and could make up a story on the spot anytime she needed to. "OK, well here are your keys, Mrs. Stowell, you need to be checked out by 11:00am on Monday," Claire stood there with a confused look on her face, she had been refered to as Mrs. Myers by everyone at school even her teachers, since her and Shane had been dating for 4 years and everyone thought the would get married anyway. "Thank you," Claire said politely then headed to the elevator to go to her room. "WOW, this place is great" She thought. The room was huge there was a great view of the city. Even though the place was beautiful she didn't know if she loved it because of how it looked or because it was the first time in almost a year that she actually felt safe. |
