Chapter Twenty-eight
Kayla came running out of the door as soon as Justin's feet hit the ground. "Unkie Justin! hey Momma!" She waved at me and leaped into Justin's arms. "Unkie Justin! I saw you kiss Momma. Grammy says not to call you Unkie anymore. She says you and Momma looove each other. Is it okay if I just call you Justin?"

We both laughed as we stepped into my Mom's house. I could see my Mom smiling at the sight of us.

Justin sat Kayla down on the couch, sitting beside her. "You know whatt? I do love your Momma, lots. So you can cell me Justin, or anything you want to."

Kayla smiled and giggled. "Momma, Justin loooves you."

I smiled as I stood in the kitchen with my Mom. I glanced over the bar. "I heard that. I love him too." I smiled inside as Kayla leaned up against Justin. They were sprawled out on the couch watching the TV. 'They are so cute. Maybe this is right.'

I felt my Mom's hand on my shoulder. "Thank you."

I let my attention focus on her. "Huh? For what?"

She laughed. "For realizing that you loved Justin. Lynn and I thought we were gonna have to point it out to you BOTH!" She continued laughing. "Don't act so surprised! Lynn and I have been praying for this for years. Just because you and Justin lost touch, doesn't mean I lost touch with Lynn. We left you two alone, because we knew that you needed to find your own way."

I hugged my Mom, not believing my ears. "I love you Mama. And thanks."

We all sat in the living room watching TV together. It made a perfect picture, this was meant to be. Justin and Kayla were intently singing along with his 'Like I Love You' video that was on MTV. None of us even noticed him until it was too late.

I looked up and saw Blake walking up my Mother's front porch steps. "You have got to be kidding me. Mom, take Kayla in your bedroom and lock the door."

Justin's eyes followed mine. My Mom was locking her door as Blake started banging on the door. "Open the fucking door Michelle! We need to talk!"

Justin squeezed my hand. "It's okay baby girl. I'm gonna go call the police. Let him in, and keep him talking, giving the police time to get here." He finished his sentence with a kiss.

After he got up I walked to the door, unlocking it. I knew that kiss had pushed Blake over the edge, but I could handle him. Or at least I thought I could.
