The Oregon Territory DBA'rs is the Pacific Northwest's premier organization for enthusiasts of De Bellis Antiquitatis. Actually, we are the Pacific Northwest's ONLY organization for enthusiasts of De Bellis Antiquitatis. We have T-shirts now, by the way, so that gives us some sort of legitimacy...
Formed in about 30 seconds at our first tournament, we have no dues, no by-laws, no club house, no respect for fashion... We do, however, have a motto: "Sex vincit mentem." Roughly, this translates as "Sixes beat brain cells".
Our president, Randall Colver, serves a life term, but was never actually elected. Yes, he's the Manuel Noriega of the wargaming world. He also umpires at our tournaments and is an all around stand-up guy.
We emphasize sportsmanship and fun. At an OTDBARS tournament you won't see a 2 hour argument about the meaning of "is" in paragraph 2.4. Be a gentleman or stay home, we say. Actually, only I say this. This is the first time I've said that.
