What is DBA?
DBA is a set of fast-play rules for battles between armies which existed before the age of gunpowder.

Each army uses 12 elements, with from 1-4 models per element.  Even the largest armies contain less than 48 figures!  This means that it's possible to own several, and plastic miniatures make it affordable.  So far I have four, with another three in the works.

Phil Barker, the game's designer, revolutionized ancients wargaming by throwing out record keeping and endless dice battles.  The game retains the "feel of generalship" but can be played in under an hour.

The rules are in their second version.  You can pick up a copy for around $10 at any of the online merchants listed under my links page.
