Weapons seized in Central Sulawesi
Police say they had found 17 bombs and scores of home-made guns, knives and
bows and arrows in an extensive search of Indonesia's Poso district.
Hundreds of police conducted door-to-door searches and combed fields in the Central
Sulawesi district from Wednesday to find illegal weapons.
District police Chief Abdi Darma Sitepu says 17 home-made bombs were hidden
under a bridge in Masani, some 15 kilometers northwest of Poso.
He says local resident gave police a lot of information.
Earlier this month at least one gunman sprayed bullets into a church where
worshippers were holding a choir practice. Seven people including a four-year-old girl
were wounded.
