Indonesian on trial for shielding Bali bombing suspects
An Indonesian accused of shielding two top suspects in the Bali bombings has gone
on trial on Sumatra .
He faces up to 15 years' jail if convicted under an anti-terrorism law.
Prosecutors have told a court at Pekanbaru that Sudigdoyo, alias Dwi bin Muryoto,
failed to report the whereabouts of Dr Azahari Husin and Noordin Mohammad Top.
The two Malaysian bomb experts are wanted for their roles in the October 2002 Bali
bombings, which killed 202 people, and last August's Marriott Hotel bombing in
Jakarta, which killed 12 people.
Prosecutors say the defendant, a businessman, met Azahari in March 2003 and was
introduced by Azahari to other members of a militant group.
They say Sudigdoyo paid the rent on a house for the Malaysians in Pekanbaru.
