Requesting Favor for the International Community to Intervene in
the Moluccas (SOS)

7. Societies who love Peace, Justice and Human Rights.
Looking at the condition in the Moluccas in general and the city of Ambon in
particular, we would like to convey the message that the conflict between the
indigenous Moluccans and illegal settlers that consist of Indonesian citizens placed in
the Moluccan islands had escalated to the point that reminded all of us of the
atrocities leveled upon us by the Indonesian government, the TNI (military), and the
Laskar Jihad in these last four years. This is in direct contradiction with statement
made by the Indonesian government and the Military(TNI). They claimed that the
situation and condition in the Moluccas is just fine even though armless Moluccans
were tortured and slaughtered, homes were destroyed and burned to the ground. This
was done when Moluccans were celebrating the commemoration of the Republic of
South Moluccas (RMS) anniversary on April 25, 2004 in a peaceful manner.
In addition to the above aforementioned atrocities, additional crimes committed by the
Indonesian military working in synchrony with the militant Muslims (laskar Jihad); on
April 26, 2004 at 10.00 AM, there have been lots of shooting; the Christian University
and the vocational school had been ruined, people's houses at the villages of Tanah
Lapang Kecil, Batu Gantong, Kampung Kolam were torch to the ground. The
destruction caused by the fire led to terrible destruction and putrefaction of the air.
Hence, this act of barbarism really causes the condition of Moluccan people to
worsen..
We need to inform Your Excellencies that the misery and torture that are currently
happening were the result of a conspiracy between the Indonesian military and the
muslim militia (Jihad troops, and terrorists).The Indonesian government /Military want
to see that the RMS case be swept under the rug so the world will never know about
it, while at the same time the militant Muslims/Laskar Jihad want to convert Indonesia
to a Muslim country. Hence, the conspiracy to annihilate the Moluccan people !
At this writing a decree (fatwa) issued by the leader of Ikhwanul Muslimin Indonesia
(IMI) and Front Pembela Islam (FPI) ordering his organization to send 7000 militia to
the Moluccan islands in order to kill indigenous Moluccans.
Therefore, we request the international community to intervene so the RMS case can
be dealt with in a civilized manner. It's imperative to see that this request be
implemented as a soon as humanly possible. Time is of essence, because the price
of neglecting this favor will lead to the annihilation of the Moluccan people. Moluccans
will be fossilized from the face of this earth ! On the other hand, your prompt
intervention will make it possible for the indigenous Moluccans to live peacefully in
their own land.
Your prompt attention on this issue will be greatly appreciated.
