FEBRUARY 1807 FRENCH TURN
French depots remain busy equipping and training new recruits before their march eastward. Strong cavalry patrols are dispatched on the Oder to both flanks of the Grande Armée.
In Spain, local militia spring up in several Spanish cities. General Joachim Blake leads a force of 20,000 regulars and mlitia into the Sierra de Gata range on the border to engage Portuguese irregulars but cannot bring the enemy to battle before they slip away into the mountains.
FEBRUARY 1807 ALLIED TURN
Fresh from his victory at Algeciras, Sir John Moore and his expeditionary force are transported to Oporoto to face Marechal Soult and his Corps d'Assistance advancing up the Douro River.
