NOVEMBER 1807 FRENCH TURN
Napoleon continues his trek westward and arrives at Ulm in Bavaria. Meanwhile, the Grande Armee, now under Massena's command, settles into winter quarters in Poland. In response to the British landing at Bayonne, a hastily raised force of conscripts and national guardsmen is gathered at Toulouse.
NOVEMBER 1807 ALLIED TURN
The English rapidly reinforce Moore at Bayonne by sea. By the end of the month, 25,000 Englishmen stand on French soil.
The Russians settle into winter quarters and construct an immense fortified camp on the west bank of the Dneiper River.
