Utility Player |
In every Minor League Entry Draft there will be a seventh type of player to draft, titled a Utility (U) player.
Utility players are generally less odds, depending on the drafting of the six main positions, yet have more value once in the minors. For every draft there will be only seven Utility players, starting with the best player at the odd of 1.3, followed by two 1.2's, two 1.1's, and two 1.0's. This is not a position, but a different option in the draft that may be drafted, and be placed in the minors like all the other drafted players, except being listed as a Utility (U) player during their whole minor league career. When the Utility player is called up, the player must be assigned a position of (Starter, Attack, Middie, Backup, Relief, or Closer) which will be the players position its whole career, no switching. If the player is called up, yet not signed, if the player is signed by a new team during Season Free Agent Market, the new team will be able to choose the Utility players position. |
