Hell now, you're not alone, some people are waiting for you, they want someone to exchange CD's and Tshirts on wednesdays afternoon.
you want to be understood, people can't really point the finger on the exact name of your OCD (ie. Jen's fabulous article) and you feel alone, lonely, forsaken, lost. you want someone to know the exact lyrics of Meet Me In The Bathroom outside the net, you want to hang out in the mall wearing your strokes tshirt with someone that would say "yay i have the same one !". You want someone to drink a beer with you and who would be dressed like Julian Casablancas just to please you (and your hormones). but you don't find anyone. either the strokes hype hadn't come to your country yet, either you can't find someone as strokes crazy as you. you would believe there is no hope, but lemme tell you there is !! yes, there is ! there is solution to drive you out of your sadness, there is ways to meet people like you.

* Yahoo! Clubs. If you have a great Internet connection you can spend your time on the groups, and with chance there is one of the members living just near you. it might even be the one always posting hard sex stuff hundred times a day (i'm not saying names ! haha). you still can try to meet them. but be careful and tolerant : all these girls have already met the strokes and they're all posting pictures like "me and albert", "julian put his arm on my shoulder !!!!!" or "me and fab smiling and being happy just before an amazing concert". it's not useful to be cringing with jealousy. they can take you with them !

* convert your own friends. you already have them, so turn them into strokes fans, and you'll have a bunch of cool friends to hang out with a strokes concerts. it goes by talking about the strokes all day, writing strokes lyrics on your university's tables, saying how handsome the strokes are. then you'll have all your girlies coming around too.

* go to a strokes concert !! this is full of strokes fans (obviously). and while the whole "dangerous" michael jackson album runs on after the opening band, just try to make friends with the people around you. anyway, there is so much pressure and so many people it'd be a shame not to communicate with them. having stereo total as opening band is a really good idea from the strokes : everyone feels so unatease and looks at each other and then someone dare to grin and then exchange their point of view. and oh, i looove your ramones shirt. where did you buy your converse shoes ? oh, thanks, i also love my tie. see, you can have people with exactly the same interests as you, who are dressed like you ... who will scream "take it or leave it" like you. good times !

* if you have money to spend and time to waste, which is rare but who knows ? - you can also ask your grandma - then hang out in New York. You might just meet new strokes fans, i mean the strokes themselves ! how cool would it be ? yeah, just dreaming.
except if you're planning on hiring an apartment on the Lower East Side with a great friend of yours, buying Ikea furniture and a cat, and having a fridge only filled up with beer and peanut butter. Then you have a chance.
