Oh so very funky and fun and danceable. To me its very chiaro-scuro (fancy art term), in that its light and dark at the same time, juxta posed next to each other, and its good in a confusing “I dunno where the hell I stand” kinda way….its light and poppy, but deep and groaning at the same time….like the opening verse lines are light and relaxed and wanna sit back and bop your head and smile, then it goes into those “and they liked it and tried to hide it” bits and its tense and gritty and makes wanna shake your head about violently. i imagine Julian’s eye brows are going insane from being furrowed one minute to raised the next…it makes you wanna bop you’re head and according to guitar magazine “you could do the killer dance steps ‘70’s glamsters Mud used to do”…mmm indeed. Oh and how god damn cool do they wanna finish this song??? It rocks! “oh and that’s it” its so dont-give-a-damn cheeky and suggestive at the same time, I love it! Oh and is it “racing againnst fig tress” or “racing against their dreams?”….the latter makes more sense, but then…why would that be a reason? email me if you know... Soma Soma is what they would take when Hard times opened their eyes Saw pain in a new way High stakes for a few names Racing against sun beams Losing against their dreams In your eyes And I am Stop And go In your eyes See I am Stop And go In your eyes Let's go When I saw her for the first time Lips moved as her eyes closed Heard something in his voice "And I'll be there", he says Then he walks out Somehow he was trying Too hard to be like them Well I am Stop And go In your eyes And I am Stop Oh, darling, let me go Tried it once and they like it Then tried to hide it Says, "I've been doing this 25 years" But I'm not listening no more And these friends, they keep asking for more Oh, yeah Oh, but that's it |
then tried to hide it says i been doing this for 25 years but i'm not listening no more and these friends keep asking for more oh but thats it |
