MODERN CORPORATION COMMITS TO OPEN WHEEL LITES AT MERRITTVILLE

Thorold, Ontario (January 20) – Last season in conjunction with the Niagara Region’s Green Bin re-launch, Modern Corporation and Merrittville Speedway invited race fans to join the race to reduce waste.
Throughout the 2009 racing season at the Thorold facility that invitation will get extended week in and week out to the Open Wheel Lite Division with the announcement that they have become the Modern Corporation Open Wheel Lites.
“We’re real excited about Modern’s new commitment to the Open Wheel Lites,” reveals (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell, adding “their increased involvement will benefit our race teams while promoting the values of environmental preservation … we can’t wait to go green!”

The Modern Corporation Open Wheel Lite Division began as a test at Merrittville Speedway several years ago. Each week the field combines the Classic Coupes and Coach body styles of the pre-war years and the newer Mod Lite versions that resemble today’s Sportsmen and 358 Modified styles.
The Modern Corporation Open Wheel Lites are one of 5 divisions that make up Merrittville Speedway’s Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series lineup that also includes the L. St. Amand Enterprises DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, Original Pizza Logs DIRTcar Sportsman, Hoosier Stocks and the Turn 4 Collision 4 Cylinders.
