THE COMMISH
Volume 1
Number 2
I'm quite sure that I've got some new faces coming to read the Commish.  Let me give you a little background on what this is all about.  On this page I write about what's happening in the world of sports.  Mostly, I talk about hockey, but sometimes other sports jump in.  This is not to offend anyone (except those I talk about), but can be somewhat harsh.  In no way is this used for anything, but debate starting and in some cases laughing.  I used to write this piece quite often, but had run out of time.  Due to the popularity and a recent rash of requests I've decided to make a comeback.  I will try to write at least once a month, but will email those when I put a new Commish on the site.  If you would like to be emailed please click on the link to the left to email me to tell me you want to be on the list.  If not just check back periodically.                                                                                                          Thanks,

Well, where to start.  Hockey is back, baseball is done, and football is in full swing.  So, I want to start with baseball.  Usually, I don't like to talk about this sport much, but I've got to admit it was great watching the Yankees lose the World Series.  I'm usually rooting for the little guys and those Marlins couldn't get much smaller against the Bronx Bombers.  However, that reminds me of an old saying, "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog."  GO MARLINS!!!
So, how bout them Cowboys.  Ya know there are a few teams in sports that I just can't stand.  In baseball it's the Yankees, in hockey it seems to be the Flyers, and in football it's the Dolphins and Cowboys.  However, I must admit that I've enjoyed watching the Cowboys this year.  Why?  Well click here to find out.
Now, I'd like to talk about A former Tampa Bay Buccaneer by the name of Keyshawn Johnson.  WHAT A BABY!!!  I just don't understand professional athletes these days.  Just so you know.  Keyshawn was having problems with his coach because the coach expected him to, of all things, show up to practices and work out with the team.  I mean, heaven forbid that happen.  Then, he sells his house and tells teammates that he won't be back next season.  We're only half way through this season.  Talk about packing it in.  So, what did Tampa do.  They deactivated him for the rest of the season (good for them).
Now, what would the commish have done, hmmmm.  I would've deactivated him, but not before making him pay every other player on the team for his costing them games for being a slacker.  Everytime he said, "Just give me the damn ball," I 2would've stuck a firecracker up his huge nose and lit the fuse.  Everytime he was late to the team meeting or practice I'd make him run across the middle during a game and make my quarterback throw high so that the defense gets a clear shot at exposed ribs.
You know what is this guys problem?  He's not even that good.  Don't you have to be something in order to say something.  This guy is on crack.  That's all I'm saying about that.
Also, in football.  The Bills have shown that great defenses can't win championships.  They've given up one touchdown the last two games and are 0-2.  Maybe you need some offense too.  Miami seems poised to begin their annual X-MAS fade.  Finally with football.  The Kansas City Chiefs, who were previously unbeaten, were smacked by the Cincinnati Bengals.  I called that loss a couple of weeks ago.
Speaking of babies and having problems with coaches.  What's going on in Washington?  The Capitals are having issues (again) with Jaronir Jagr and coach Butch Cassidy.  Jagr is stuck as a Cap whether we like it or not.  So, this is what the commish proposes.  First off.  Fire Cassidy.  He's not the type of guy for this team.  Second, hire Mike Keenan.  Keenan is known for being a superstars coach.  Make Jagr happy and maybe he'll get his head out of his,,,, well, you know.
The Sabres are playing somewhat decent.  At least it seems from a distance.  They aren't the LA Kings, but they aren't the Caps either.  Just a matter of what goalie is in and which isn't.  Miro Satan got benched and mentioned something to the affect he deserved it.  Pretty big statement for someone so pissed because they lost their captaincy.
Here's something.  We're only two months into the season and Eric Lindros has been on the injured reserve twice already.  Good job.
Just wanted to mention, for all those Islander fans or ex-fans, that its been rumored they're trying to cut $7 million off of their payroll.  It's good to be a Wild fan.
Remember all those free agent predictions I made last summer.  Well, none of them came true, but it still could happen.  Hasek is back from Prague.  Lemiuex is needing money.  God only knows Gretzky is coming back.  He's playing  in an Oilers alumni game.  He'll realize how much he misses it and join the Coyotes front line.  Just another prediction.
Finally, I want to know what you would like comments on.  Any sport you want to talk about.  You want to know what the Commish thinks on something?  Well, just ask and we shall answer on the front sports page.  Please email your question to me by clicking here.
