HURRICANE ISABEL
Isabel has been gone for a week now and we just got power back on today.  It could be worse.  We have friends who don't even have homes anymore.  About 200,000 people in the area are still without power.  It certainly hasn't been fun cleaning up after this mess.  It was only a category 2, but what damage.  Check out the pictures that we got from the day after.  Anything higher than a 2 would have been REALLY BAD news for us all.
This picture was taken in the apartment complex.  As you might be able to tell we didn't fair too poorly in the complex.
However, once you got outside the complex things got a lot worse.  This tree was just outside the complex.  The winds snapped it right in half.
This picture is in the city of Poquoson.  Waters were said to be as high as 5 feet in some peoples houses.  Trees and power lines were common place in the middle of the road.
Another common sight around the peninsula.  The grass looks like astroturf being lifted away.  However, astroturf doesn't normally come with a hundred year old tree attached.
This is a fairly good picture of what most streets down here have been looking like.  Scary to know that we were part of this.
