Have You Seen Her

(Sunshine Part 2)

If I creept through concrete
In fatigues and heels
Could you see me?
If I bee-bopped down the block
And shimmied ya lock open
Would you be on my coat tails
Or would I shake you
Like a tail feather
If I walked with a sway
As if to say
I turned on the music
With the thunda in my thighs
I got pure brown sugar caramel
Dripping onto my toes
And bubble gum
Stuck to my lips
Poppin’ shit
Wearing molasses mascara
And apple pie perfume
Don’t you want to taste my
Sweet and sour sauce
My coca-cola float
Hair down to there
Ponytail flair
All thoroughbred from the back
Staring at you like
Wonder Woman with an attitude
Like what’s up with this dude
And taking it all in stride
Devious smile can’t hide
It peeks around the corner
Devil tail tongue chases it
Back into a cynical grimace
She is flirting disaster
Sugar walls and blowtorch floors
Dare me to dance on the devil’s playground?
The stars in her eyes are white hot
She scratches love notes in flesh
And leaves stragglers behind
Concrete goddess
Jungle diva
New York retro sheik
Atlanta conscious funk
Pseudo-casual artistic-elegance
Thrift store glamorous
Second hand luxurious
Tell me have you seen her
Next time get her name
They call her sunshine
The pimped out poetess
But can you tell me her name
E is for eternity
N is for never
Maybe was all she said
As she eased on down the road
And in the distance they heard
Sunshine rides again
