Searching
In my constant search
For everlasting love
I have found little more
Than my own individuality
Little more than fellow searchers
Lost in a sea of
Less than worthy adversaries
Nomads wondering the
Monotonous plains of emptiness
Shallow people wading in deep waters
Amongst sharks and dolphins
There are plenty of fish in the sea
But mammals are hard to come by
When you’re a dolphin amongst guppies
Life is a lonely struggle betwixt
Insanity, suicide and balancing on the
Pedestal you’ve been given to live on
Some are afraid of
Falling from high places
Existence is awkward when
You’re always concerned with stability
I know why Humpty Dumpty fell
And I don’t think it was an accident
Is the rest of the world
Mediocre at best
Or am I just that far advanced
Either way
It’s depressing
I have needs that are
Human in nature
The need to be stimulated
Both mentally and physically
Preferably at the same time
The need to be accompanied
Both literally and figuratively
On dark nights as well as
Bright days
To be held in the arms and
In the heart of someone
Who is both my equal and
My opposite
To share a common bond
With a fellow dolphin
In this sea of guppies
Nomads, gypsies, traveling circuses
Stranger than most butv
Still moving in packs
It’s lonely at the top
Especially when you’re
Not sure it’s where you
Want to be
I’m searching in the dark
But all I keep finding is me
