What words are left to say
It’s the if and but end of it all
And the who what where did it all go
In the blue fire pit of despair
White lightning roars thunderously
Through yellow daffodils
Peeking from green blades of grass
Brown eyes streaked with red
Leak saline onto purple shirts
And leave lavender stains
As the smell of orange peels
Tickles noses in the sunshine
While bare feet expose toes
Painted pink and caked with
Black mud
Is this love?
In the if and but end of it all
With who what where did it all go
But what words are left to say
Evolution made the dinosaurs go away
But left the cockroaches
Serpent skin shed in shame
These boots where made for walking
But what the world needs now
Is this love?
Silver glitter sparkles in the corner of my eye
I am blinded by the glare
Even though I stare at this
Stairway to heaven as though it were
Crystal salvation
Waterfall of light
Dandelion seeds sailing on the winds
Of change
Lips left in position kiss
Face frozen in rapture
Nothing but moist strips
To tell of the trail of tears
The if and but end of it all
The who what where did it all go
Maybe I don’t want to know
Is this love?
