The Little People

You grow up
And you leave them
They're a part of you
Whether you admit it
Or not
They get smaller
To you
More fragile
They are no longer
All knowing
All powefull
You are disapointed
Now they appear
Almost pathetic
You realise
If you didn't love them
You probably wouldn't even
Like them
Then you realize
You would
In fact the only thing
You don't like about them
Is that they belong to you
You feel bad for them
So befudled and frail realy
But you love them
They're cute really
They just seem so ...
Small
And it makes you sad
To think that way
To think of them
As little old people
Doing the best they can
Trying so very hard
You promise to do better
To be better
When your time comes
And your kids
Begin to look down
When they speak to you
And call you old
When you've convinced yourself
Otherwise
