Summer Madness

Cars pass in the night
Like long lost lovers
Who don't want to be found
Fire flys flicker on and off
Like flashbulbs
On a news reporter's camera
The wind dances with the tress
Like she's had too much to drink
And doesn't realize
Everyone else has gone home
Clouds pass the moon
Sporadically covering it from view
As the whisper evening secrets in it's ear
That only heavenly bodies know
Water splashes from the fountain
Into a pond full of sleeping fish
Dreaming of a world without cats
Funny, the field mice are having the same dream
Night blooming frogs sing to the night
Songs of summertime
Floating on the breeze
